Enjoyed your discussion of personality reality, etc. We seem to see more kids or 20-somethings with esper powers than older adults. Maybe training works better on children or teens, so if Academy City and the 'science' of esper education is fairly new, that may be why few middle-aged or older espers exist. (Or maybe they just left the city.) Sci-fi often portrays esper abilities triggered by puberty - chuuni make good espers? Cid from Eminence in Shadow would do well! Misaka undercover was fun; nice to see her get a good fight.
