Well it's almost time, if we didn't have to WAIT...... That's a wrap for part 1 though, what a journey!

* 33:01: It's about not opposing him whilst also making sure that his family doesn't die, so whatever it takes to try preventing anything now, I suppose. If one directly goes against him... knowing how powerful of a being the Man-God is... well... that is more likely to go wrong. Of course, Rudy also has the option to try talking to Orsted if what the Man-God is saying is true.... before or after battling him.

* 35:41: Nanahoshi perhaps knows where to find Orsted? I think she already... ahem... was dead by the time Rudy knew that the Man-God killed Roxy and indirectly began his spiral down in the bad timeline.

I don't understand why he was so ready to just take the man-god's word. After everything he read and what the man-god said personally I would have been far more suspicious of everything he said

I'd just be worried that by going after Orsted, Rudy might decide not to "consult with Nanahoshi" (since Orsted is her friend) especially given that was one of Oldeus' strong recommendations for avoiding tragedy.

It's mostly him collapsing under the threat to everything he has. Whilst I see his agreement to go after Orsted as ludicrously foolish, he doesn't have any other action he can take to change things. This is a time that Rudeus should slow down and weight all the details and worries, but instead, he is rushing. With Hitogami saying that Rudeus's family is his target, Rudi is jumping at the first alternative. Despite Hitogami having zero accountability to keep his word. He could have another Apostle walking Rudeus's home and slaughter his wives while he is with Orsted.

Mat, it would be great if you just forgot what Shizuka said about "the world correcting itself." That truly just her guessing from a place of fear. Working with that as a preconception may muddy water that would otherwise be translucent. Yes, leaving you to consider as a possibility can be considered the organic state of experience, however I believe that it would surely detract from ponderingthe events and meanings that Rifujin actually gives you to stress over, and for no real reason.

I see where you were coming from about Rudeus feeling obligated to return Eris's love, but nothing about their situation is typical. Also, while you say compelled, I think Rudi's words to Roxy and Sylphy were defensive, leaning hard into "Ya know I wouldn't choose this, but it's kinda out of my hands" to protect himself from what is obviously a very greedy, inconsiderate looking request. You saw Oldeus mention Rudi still loving Eris, and not only was he unable to deny it right away, but he was pretty clearly acquiescing with his face and body movement. Lots of us lose relationships due to misunderstandings or assumptions, and those can almost never be revisited to be reclaimed IRL. Here, we get a guy who has loved these three women throughout his whole life, who ONLY felt despair at an imaginary break up because of a failure of communication, plus he has eyewitness testimony that Eris spent her entire adult life wanted his to take her hand. Unless Rudeus told Oldeus, "Nah, fuck that deranged mad dog! I've got no feeling for her," then everything in his heart that had Eris's essence on it was reignited. His pursuing a relationship with Eris being an obligation is at most 50% of the cause of his effort. Which I only say such a high percentage as he is clearly not in his clear mind and is panicking to do anything to change what that diary told him.
