That Marty and Rust chemistry feels like lightning in a bottle. Rust dialing up his crazy comments after Marty calls him crazy is *chef's kiss*

The cinematography is top notch. Some of those shots can make me feel sweaty in an air conditioned room.

Chandra sherlock homes wears a deerstalker hat and he smokes a pipe Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey are 2 bloody good acters and i had no idea they was in this it was a shock to see them working together on this i love how this is filmed it has a 60s 70 look to it thought its meant to be set mostly in 95 now the way they are both being questioned it screams out that the killer is a cop and its 1 or both of them

Oliver

Thanks, guys. Great reaction!

MaplenutsReact

Haha so I was close with the Sherlock Holmes reference! And you're so right about the 60s/70s look. I hadn't thought about it until you said it!

Guy-on-Couch

Rust is one of the best characters ever created for TV....enjoy the ride...Both of them together are amazing...such awesome banter

This is gonna be great. Thanks guys! Looking forward to the rest. It's set in really rural Louisiana, so small parishes or counties have alot of deeply religious people and local politicians that are like celebs. I agree with Jordan, I can understand Rust's point. Sometimes we need to be just a bit negative on life, but he's chosen it as his life-style.😄

Nathan Jasper

I relate to Rust so much. There's only so much one person can lose before hope and purpose is gone entirely. Can't wait to see you peel back the onion layers so to speak.

MaplenutsReact

Yesss, love Rust so much. And their ridiculous relationship haha

MaplenutsReact

It's true. He's such an interesting character... Like none I've encountered before in books or movies.

This is one of those shows that I always wanted to watch, but never got around to... so I'm be watching it for the first time with you guys. Very good first episode. Rust is very interesting : both fascinating and yet offputting.

MaplenutsReact

Ooo that's exciting! I'm so glad you're watching with us!

Heck yeah! We're stoked to be watching with you ❤️

On a slight tangent here I recommend you watch the Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock series if you havent seen it.

Darren Chapman

I've never watched this series before, I too have heard it's a good one, this is the perfect opportunity for me to watch it now. Great first episode 😃

Gary Leyh

Thank you! This series has been on my list for years and you gave me the motivation to finally watch it! Wow, I can't believe I waited so long, it's so good!

Christian Rennie

Thanks for the reactions! This is also my first time through this series. Also, Young Sherlock Holmes (1984) is a fun and well made Sherlock (based on the character) origin story. I wouldn't mind seeing it eventually on a poll. It doesn't get enough love for how good it is, imo.

MaplenutsReact

Ooo I've always wanted to see something of Sherlock Holmes!

I joined your Patreon for Andor but get to additionally watch your reactions to TD S1 - one of my favorite series all time.

This is a perfect storm of great actors doing a performance of a lifetime to a perfect story and script with outstanding direction. Unfortunately it did not stretch into the second season ! (The third is... OK). But this. This is a top 5 show of all time on many people's lists. Chandra.. please consider Sherlock ! Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes in a modern day retelling of his stories, and each episode is movie length. It's really good !
