I first saw this back in the early ‘80’s on VHS and thought it was awesome. It’s still pretty awesome 40 odd years later. The dirty, dangerous streets of New York was a movie stereotype of the ‘70’s, and by all accounts wasn’t that far off the mark. The Bronx especially had a bad reputation.

I was a teenager in the late 70's and this movie just resonated with me. It's one of my absolute favorites and I listened to the soundtrack almost daily for years. So glad you enjoyed it. I loved your reactions. Please consider doing the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. You'd love that also.

I haven't seen this movie before, but I have heard of it and probably seen a clip or two on YouTube, and I was really not looking forward to watching it, because it just didn't seem to be something I would even remotely enjoy. I think I've even actively not watched it before for that reason. And now, after watching it, I can confirm that I was entirely wrong. It's really fucking good and automatically on my list of favorite films. I will also, definitely, be getting the soundtrack.

This film is absolutely loaded with quotes, and is a total time capsule for grimy New York subways. Psycho David Patrick Kelly is also very notable in Commando (I let him go) and The Crow (T-Bird). The Warrior thrown on the rail Thomas Waites played Windows in The Thing, and goes uncredited in this movie, despite having a large part at the start. More like this ; The King of New York - master of 80s New York grime movies Abel Ferara brings Christopher Walken in his best role with an ensemble cast in a legendary crime thriller. Top 5 film of mine.

i haven't watched your reaction yet or read the other comments, but the "Warriors! Come out and play!" is the same guy who took "Dinner Reservations" in the John Wick series.

Really enjoyed rewatching this wonderful film with you both! 😊
