Lonni fed Luthen the intel about Dr. Gorst, and Luthen gave the mission to Cassian to, in part, satisfy Cassian’s demand for Luthen to help him work out what was ailing Bix. The primary reason for the mission was to kill Gorst to prevent his interrogation methods from becoming a widespread “program”. I think Bix took it upon herself to torture him first. I hope it helps her heal. Either way, I’m happy that the final moments of Dr. Gorst’s life were spent having his brain turned to mush (as you so aptly put it) from listening to the “choral, agonized pleading” of massacred Dizonite children. Cinta died in such a stupid and tragic way. She didn’t die at the hands of the Empire, but because a kid brought a blaster after being ordered not to, and because a passerby needed to prove he was a tough guy.

Cass and Bix's door knock signal may seem non-specifc but it is actually the same beat/cadence as the sound the people of Ferrix were making when the Corpo security were cracking down in season 1, Ep3. Cass is meeting Luthen for the first time and corpos are detaining Marva. She has the cool line "That's what a reckoning sounds like.". Just saying while it may seem non-specific its a little piece of Ferrix they carry with them, sayings like "Stone and Sky". I have been watching Star Wars in some form for like 40+ years, this show is the first time that gave people an actual culture and not just a nationality.

Jordan: "Oh, shit". Indeed! This is one of my favorite episodes of anything, ever, and this isn't even my favorite episode of Andor. Luthen is a god-tier schmooze. Kleya is the ultimate badass. Mon Mothma is the most morally grounded person ever. "Calibrate your enthusiasm" belongs on a billboard. "This is on you now. This is like skin". This is just razor-sharp in every respect. How many shows do you watch that make you say, "Wow, the lighting and composition for that shot!"? I feel like it is just impossible to over-sing the praises for this series. As many times as I've seen it, it still feels like an ever-tightening noose. Just a masterclass in tension.

"Fashion Cassian" 🤣 love this!

I concur! I had to look up all the writers for these episodes, and find out what else they've written 🤣. Tony Gilroys brother Dan was one of the writers, and he has a fun filmography.

One thing about Luthen sending Cass to Ghorman, I'm my opinion, it was a two-fold mission; evaluate the Ghorman resistance, and evaluate Cassians leadership potential.

I have a ball cap with "Calibrate your enthusiasm" on it. 😂

Also, it was just a notification for Bix. He was saying, "It's me. I'm coming in" and he wanted her to know it was him so she wouldn't be on edge and possibly shoot him.

50 minutes, 3 story lines masterfully written/acted/filmed with a resolution. This show is amazing and you guys are getting it. 🍻

I'm glad for two things. One, that you have the youtube link up, because the main post page is showing that annoying YT "sign in" thing that you can't click. And Two, that your mic volumes are louder now; in the previous videos, it was getting hard to hear you guys.

For me, the YouTube "Sign In" thing usually happens due to a VPN issue; and, yes, it can be annoying!

MaplenutsReact

That's a good point about Cassians leadership potential! I hadn't even considered Luthen would still be evaluating him

Man, you did Luthen a bit dirty in this episode, thinking he sent Vel and Cinta off to Ghorman to die, when in reality he gave the Gorst job to Bix and Cassian specifically to help Bix move past her trauma and start healing :p It was an interesting thought, though, I can understand why that might cross your mind. Luthen is playing levels of chess that other people don't even know about. I don't think he would have sacrificed Vel and Cinta in that way, though. Remember, he wanted to form an alliance with Ghorman and get them in the fight, which means he always intended things to go well. I also really like how you can see how much Vel has grown as a leader. At Aldhani, she was unsure of herself. She was almost too scared to say, "Go." But now she has no issues taking charge and making decisions. And she shows no hint of fear or hesitation. You can tell she has been through a lot and has improved so much,

"Calibrate your enthusiasm.” I love the ending w/Bix (and Cass).
