"Batman: Robin, listen to these riddles. Tell me if you interpret them as l do. One: what has yellow skin and writes?

Robin: A ball-point banana!

Batman: Right."This movie is just good old fashioned wall to wall fun, and we had a blast watching it. I hope you have as much fun as we do watching Batman!YouTube: https://youtu.be/QPu4gQBijqM

Don’t know if y’all clocked it, but the Penguin is played by Burgess Meredith who would later go on to be Mickey in Rocky.

This is a funny movie. It's also IMO *the* reason movie studios believed comicbook superhero movies had no adult mainstream appeal for a decade. Until "Superman" was released in 1978 this is what every studio executive thought a superhero movie was. That helps you see how groundbreaking "Superman" was. The tagline "You will believe a man can fly." was a claim about the effects but also a statement that it was not another "Batman: The Movie".

Man, I haven't seen this in FOREVER. Glad to hear you enjoyed the campy fun. I haven't watched yet, so don't know if you discussed this already, but if you did enjoy it there are three seasons of TV episodes with the same cast (for the most part).

It's great that Adam West went on to be the Mayor of Quahog on Family Guy.

Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar returned to play Batman, Robin and Catwoman in a pair of animated movies about 10 years ago and they're GREAT. Return of the Caped Crusaders and Batman vs Two Face. Two Face is played by William Shatner and it's SO PERFECT since they were contemporaries in the 60s. It feels like Shatner probably would have fit right into that show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5r6a8bOahFQ

I'm glad you guys got to watch this movie. I saw it in the movie theatre when I was 9 years old, so you can imagine the reaction of a little kid back in the unsophisticated time of 1966. This movie was simply so much fun, but also very exciting and I left that theatre in awe, and the Batman weekly series that followed was highly popular around the world. These guys became icons. After this another batman movie was not done again until 1989 and all the remaining movies too a serious turn. But this Batman will always be among my favorites. For a little child 1966 was an incredible year :) Batman was arguably the single most popular figure for kids in 1966 and James Bond, Thunderball (released December 1965) was the reigning "latest" movie and dominated the global box office throughout 1966. Going to the movies as a kid in those years were an experience in themselves :) You guys are such an enjoyable young couple to watch these movies with.

As a kid I eagerly watched the weekly show every Saturday morning. It was so good. What makes it special is that Adam West plays it completely straight despite the insane level of goofiness. He was always very respectful of his young fans who really saw him as Batman. And this is 100% the best Batmobile of all time.
