Hi Everyone!Minority Report is such a great sci-fi film! Its action is inventive and exciting, but it doesn't overshadow the twisty plot or classic sci-fi themes. It really feels like everything and everyone in this movie is firing on all cylinders (or jetpacks haha). We had a great time with it, and we hope you do too!

another great adaptation of a Philip K Dick story, along with Blade Runner, Total Recall, and others. thanks for reacting to this!

There was a Minority Report TV show that took place after the events of this movie. I don't remember how long, but some years. I don't think it was more than 10 years. Anyway, I think it only lasted 1 season, but I did enjoy it quite a bit and see how the society and tech evolved from here. It was basically a high-tech, futuristic police procedural, but not really because it did have an overarching story for the season and, I BELIEVE, they did solve the case, so it came to a type of conclusion, I THINK. Anyway, I saw you post this and just thought about that TV show. Considered buying it on Blu ray recently. Anyway, I'm excited to rewatch with you guys. I tend to love Philip K. Dick adaptations. They tend to always have characters that question their sense of self/identity and it makes the stories so interesting.

Trust me: Sunshine (2007). And for more Tom Cruise/Spielberg: War of the Worlds (2005)

A brilliant film and a completely original IP that asks so many questions. It was interesting how Chandra leapt in feet first saying "just look... it works !" whereas Jordan was more sceptical and needed more data (reminds me of the Ai debate today !) More great Sci-Fi - V (the original TV movies) - 80s wonderfulness. Off the strength of the first two TV movies, another three were commissioned. Its absolutely fabulous and a cult classic that inspired so many other IPs Annihilation - Alex Garland (Dredd /Ex-Machina) - Nathalie Portman and Oscar Isaac investigate a wholly psychedelic experience. Brilliant. Thought provoking. Mind expanding More Colin Farrell Miami Vice - Colin and Jamie Foxx play the reinvented undercover vice cops from the cult 80s TV show, directed by Michael Mann (Heat. Collateral) who produced the show In Bruges - hitmen Colin and Brendan Gleeson are sent to Bruges for a mission. Hilarious, dark comedy thriller, probably Farrell's finest hour

That geneticist lady is definitely a fan of Savage Garden.

I really like this movie. It’s based on a short story written by Phillip K. Dick. He was a very popular science fiction author in the ‘60’s. There have been many movies made from his stories, include Blade Runner, Total Recall, The Adjustment Bureau, A Scanner Darkly (a very cool movie), and more. It’s been a while since I watched this. I remember thinking Samantha Morton gave a great performance as the pre-cog Agatha. Upon re-watch, I still think so.

This takes place in 2054. And the thing that stands out as the most unbelievable part of the movie is that it features a crowded mall. I've watched enough shows and movies with you that I really wish you would give yourselves just another minute or two at the end of a show/movie sometimes to share more of your thoughts and impressions with us.

Minority Report is great, and I think it's aged shockingly well for a movie that's over 2 decades old that is supposedly about "the future." I think the brash visual aesthetic probably helps it not to feel dated. As a random observation, I notice that the mall scene in Minority Report (where Agatha is anticipating on the fly how to elude people chasing them) feels very similar to the scene in "Edge of Tomorrow" when Cage (Cruise) and Rita (Emily Blunt) go back into the military building to confront Brendan Gleeson, and Cage tells Rita exactly when and where to step to avoid being seen.

An interesting theory exists regarding the ending of the movie. It’s the Halo Dream Theory. Basically it’s the belief that everything after John is captured and haloed is a hallucination in his mind while he is imprisoned. His jailer says, “They say you have visions. That your life flashes before your eyes. That all your dreams come true.” The resolution of this movie is very neat and tidy and as close to a fairy tale ending as you could get given the circumstances. John is freed, Lamar is implicated for his crimes, the Precogs are set free, and John is reunited with his wife and they’re expecting a child. It’s a perfect resolution! Almost too perfect…. Idk, I find the theory very interesting and as more time passes, I find myself seeing that as more and more likely.

I think you misunderstood the premeditation. A big difference between premeditated and crimes of passion for Precrime is that the precogs see the premeditated murders much earlier. The Leo Crow murder was premeditated, but it was premeditated by Director Lamar Burgess. They got an early warning because Burgess was planning the murder: making the deal with Leo Crow, faking the pictures, etc. That was supposed to be a clue that things weren't as they appeared to be. The way things played out, it looked like a crime of passion, and similar to the one we see them stop at the start of the film, Precrime should have gotten a red ball with very little warning. The interesting thing about it is that just getting Leo Crow in a room with pictures wasn't enough. He had to have some kind of plan to put Anderton in the room with him to trigger the event. Of course, once that was going to happen, that would trigger the Precrime event, and that puts Anderton in the room without even needing to execute that other plan.

I'm a little late to your reaction to this (I was on vacation), but if you enjoyed this, I really think you would enjoy I, Robot (2004) with Will Smith. It's got a lot of similarities to this movie (futuristic sci-fi murder mystery).
