Hey Everyone! It's time for mooooore Spider-Man! I loved this movie so much!! But really, how could I not have. Any sort of movie that is extra creative like this wins me over. I love the art styles - especially how they change throughout the movie depending on where we are. Also the humor was soooo good. Loved the new characters too. Okay, everything... everything was perfect about it haha.

Welp, there goes my morning! LOOOOOOOOOVE this one. Personally, it's the best comic book movie out there -- it sets a very high bar.

The animation in this movie is immaculate! Just need the next installment, movie always feels incomplete but it’s still very good! Excited to watch!

Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099 was probably some of the best casting that they could have done. I love the references we got to other universes we've seen. And that line from Peter B Parker: "If it weren't for Uncle Ben, most of us wouldn't be here" just rips. What reference took you by surprise the most? For me it's a toss-up between Miguel's line "and don't even get me started on Doctor Strange and that little nerd from Earth 199999" and then seeing Donald Glover as a captured Prowler because that adds a lot of weight to the line he said in Spider-Man homecoming "I got a nephew that lives here"

Best cliffhanger ever. It jut come out of nowehere and wollups you upside the head. I wouldn't have done it any differently.

I knew the runtime so the ending definitely came out of nowhere, just not a satisfying ending to me, still really enjoy it every time I watch though!

The first time I watched this, I was honestly overwhelmed, just like the first movie. These movies are like, "How much joy can you tolerate!?!? Well, here's all of it!". This will be my second time watching it, ever, because I'm genuinely scared of this movie!

The different styles of the universes are reminiscent of the styles of the different comics that those characters are from. Same with the first movie. Gotta love Hobie. 😁 All of those spider-people were in the comics (at least once). That's a huge part of the joke, that they're all "real." There were a couple that were fan created, like the girl in the wheelchair that made the crutch joke. She was invented by a girl in a wheelchair. Also, the LEGO one was created by a kid who, I think, did do LEGO stop-motion films. So, at least, those two were fan-created. Technically, Spider-Gwen is fan created also. A guy who loved Gwen Stacy did a mock-up image of "Spider-Gwen" lounging by a pool and people loved it so much that eventually they made her a real character. The only Gwen Stacy we know of that lived. Here she goes by Spider-Woman, but I believe they settled on the name "Ghost Spider" in the comics for her. A few details about Miguel 'cause he's the only one whose comic I've read some of. 😆 In the 90s, there was a line that Marvel tried out that was their 2099 line where there were ones like X-Men 2099, Doom 2099, (I think there may have been a Hulk 2099, but can't remember for sure), and Spider-Man 2099. Probably some others. I bought the first issues of the comic titles that I read anyway at the time or were curious about, like X-Men, Doom and Spider-Man. The only one I found memorable was Spider-Man 2099 and all the other titles got cancelled fairly quickly but Spider-Man 2099 did the best and had, obviously, the most staying power. Miguel is definitely not a bad guy, but he is more hardcore because he became Spider-Man as an adult and through rough circumstances. He had a mom and younger brother (who was kinda a screw-up) and Miguel was a very successful businessman/scientist. He was kinda like the Tony Stark of the time. He was snarky and kinda an ass (probably because of how his mother treated him and others), but not a bad guy. It was like he was genius-level smart, but had kind a chip on his shoulder, in a stoic sorta way. I can't remember the exact details, but I think someone wanted to take over his company and they tried to kill him to get him out of the way. They did it by slipping him this new, highly addictive and dangerous designer drug (what you saw him inject himself with) that he has to keep taking or he'll die because if you take it once (which was done to him without his knowledge) you are physically addicted and have to keep taking it or the withdrawal will kill you and it will kill you eventually anyway if you keep taking it. In order for him to not go down the death spiral rabbit hole which would end in his death, he spliced spider DNA with his because spiders have some resistance to it. It made him into Spider-Man and stopped the death spiral, but he still is addicted and will die from withdrawal, but not from taking it. I don't think the drug has effects on him other than that, but don't quote me on that. Anyway, in the first few comics (I don't know if it changed later) his eyes were black and he had to wear sunglasses all the time so people wouldn't see his eyes and freak out and also because his visual spectrum was turned up so high, he'd be blinded by regular sunlight. I think, maybe, he created some sort of lenses that make his eyes look normal? He climbs walls because of the claws on his fingertips and toes that are retractable and lay down flat when he doesn't need them (like snakes' fangs), but they are super tough 'cause, as you saw here, he can slice through metal with them. So, he does use them as weapons. He has fangs and he found out, by chance, that if he bites a perp, he has venom that will paralyze them temporarily. That's why he was about to bite the Leonardo Da Vinci Vulture at the beginning. It helped him, the first time, beat a bigger and stronger opponent that was squeezing him. He was like, "Well, let's see what these fangs can do," and bit the arm, which paralyzed it and he was like, "Oh, cool!" (paraphrasing all this, of course, since that was IN THE 90s! Get off my back!😉) I don't remember about the webbing. It might be natural or it might be from the tech in the suit. Anyway, I always liked Miguel and thought he was cool, with the claws and fangs. His mother always talked to him like he was the loser and his younger brother, the screw-up, was an angel who could do no wrong, even though Miguel supported them both. So, all those factors seemed to make him less jovial than other Spider-people. He's not the bad guy here, but he is the antagonist to Miles. Spot is, obviously, the villain. Miguel feels that he IS doing the right thing, but he has to be harsh sometimes, after he unintentionally destroyed a UNIVERSE. Oof. I feel like in the 3rd movie, we'll find out that Miguel might have the multiverse a bit wrong and Miles will figure out a way to change/save his dad without causing the multiverse to collapse and help Miguel to get a new perspective. One of my favorite things about the end of this movie is with the cliffhanger, the last we see of Miles, he has a look on his face that epitomizes what he told Rio (not his mom), that he's, now, not afraid of anything. Oh, you were first reactor I've seen that figured out right away that the machine was sending Miles to the universe of the spider that bit him and not Miles' actual universe. That was a good catch. I didn't get it until he glitched (basically when movie explained it to us).

I was like, "I'm gonna have to rewatch this and pause...A LOT." 😆

Darian Harman

There's just so much. It's, I don't even know--an onslaught of a movie.

MaplenutsReact

It most definitely does. There's just so much to love about it

MaplenutsReact

Wow, there's so much more to Miguel than this movie covered... It makes sense though. You can only show so much of each character! I also had no idea so many characters were fan made. That's really cool that fans have that much of an effect!

DazzMetalStorm

That was Spectacular.🔥 I just watched both Spider-verse films for the first time with your reactions. I was waiting for the right time to watch them. I had so much fun. I liked seeing all the cameos from the movies and recent games. The 'Spider-Man: Edge of Time' videogame introduced me to the Spiderverse when i was a kid, very good game. Alot of depth like this film. 2099 can be a jerk but hes one of my favourites of the Spider-clan.
