Can confirm that there are many characters in the books that didn't make it into the show. Mostly minor ones at first, but as the series goes on (and the books get longer) there are more major characters and plot lines that didn't get included in the show. I'm excited for the next few episodes, one of them is one of my favourites episodes of the whole series!

Making new and interesting characters is one of Martin's greatest strengths as a writer. And it's a good thing too because you can't replace a Ned Stark or a Khal Drogo with a turnip. Trying to guess what the author and the show writers are going to do with so many great characters is some of the fun of this show. Brienne swearing to serve lady Catelyn is epic because we miss some of the honor and nobility the story lost in Ned. It's a great reminder that at least some of the people in this world still hold to the old codes.

Oh wow, well now I'm super excited for it too!! Hahaha

You're so right about Brienne! The world was starting to feel pretty dark with so few honorable characters left!
