This is a tale of my wild adventure as frontman and songwriter of Falling Up. From its humble origins to the final chapter, my hope is that these stories will reveal the heart behind a kid who set out in the world with big dreams to create music. This epic is told entirely from my perspective, with a commitment to narrating to the best of my memory.

As a songwriter myself, hearing you describe songwriting truly is absolutely mindboggling and awe-inspiring at the same time. I can't comprehend viewing songwriting the way you do, but I'm sure you'd feel the same about how I write. It's incredible how different the process can be from person to person.

Thank you so much for lifting the veil into the world of mystery that is Falling Up. This is such a vulnerable and honest accounting of events and, after listening for twenty years, having the privilege to hear the background is breathtaking.

I appreciate you sharing this history of one of my favorite bands ever. The lyrical way in which you are weaving the story is intriguing. Glad to be a supporter. I would love to hear how you and your wife met and the chemistry between you.

The beginning reminds me of Younger Wives

I remember when Fangs came out. I excitedly opened the CD and began playing the album in my car. I could not stop listening and pondering the lyrics. It felt like a good mystery novel that I had to figure out. I have been a fan since the beginning of FU. I am thankful for your talents, Jessy. Your music has been medicine for me.

Well thank goodness that Jessy is a storyteller first - that's exactly why Falling Up is so unique and memorable in the midst of regural Christian label music. I've always connected with the melancholy that Falling Up brings. Thinking about mortality, it's kind of the price you pay for a beautiful life. And it's bittersweet.
