So Episode 12 is about to be posted so I won't bother trying to explain some things as the answers will appear shortly. But there is one misconception, that Lady Anshi favors Shishou. It was the former Emperor's mother that favored him, not Anshi. I want to talk about food. In the East certain foods are considered "invigorating", as they said. I think it is very rich foods. I am not sure of the exact effect it's supposed to have, but it's like strength, or stimulating. If I had to theorize, I think these foods are probably those considered to have yang energy, which is associated with light, masculinity, activity, etc. I guess that avoiding them would be similar to avoiding aphrodisiacs for Jinshi, but as you can see, it's not like women can't eat them.
