Just for clarification, noir and rouge are both french words, just like the sentence at the start of the movie. Noir mean black and rouge mean red, the two color of the screen when this words appear ^^.

"If I had friends, they'd lower my strength as a human" is probably the most important line in this whole movie. Maybe even in the whole story thus far. Despite it being pretty edgy, it represents Araragi's struggle perfectly. Araragi is scared of the influence of other people. If his friends are sad, he is sad. He's less human because his pure human form is being changed by the people around him. How fitting then, that his oddity, a vampire monster, shows up right after he makes his first friend: Hanekawa. And what does said oddity do? It takes away his humanity and turns him into a monster. We can then apply this back to Bakemonogatari ("Monster Story", or "Change Story"). The story where Araragi makes a bunch of new friends, and, as shown in Tsubasa Cat, changes because of their influence on him. This leads him to valuing his life a little bit more. Which is where he calls for the very oddity representing this new "monster" within him to save himself. Credit a lot of these connections to Stasispyramid. He completely changed the way I thought of this arc.
