A new Jedi adventure begins, and I’m so grateful to be back. I love this Jedi!

What can I say? They’ve taken everything that worked in the first game and pushed it to another level. If you felt more connected to the characters and their performances this time around, there’s a reason for that. Did you feel the energy? Did it feel that survival—like you were Cal or how Cal felt?

The handheld feel here is utterly marvellous—it’s clearly part of the signature look and why you and I felt the way we did when playing or watching. The way they let actors breathe in those long takes is fantastic. Watch for those subtle punch-ins as a character steps forward, and the slight tilt-up for that sense of heroism. Think about what that does for how we perceive these characters.

The creator behind this video even applied a custom SDR tone map for how we’re watching it, which makes the whole experience look beautiful—at times almost lifelike.

That said, it’s not without issues. The crushed blacks can be a bit much—there’s noticeable loss of detail. And anything red… well, you’ve been Tizered.

Tizer, if you don’t know - was an iconic British soft drink. Shout out to anyone who remembers it. There’ll definitely be a few confused Americans watching this!

I always try to focus on the positives in anything we check out, and I hope that comes across. At the end of the day, it’s about appreciating what people create for others and I hope you feel the same.
