Grand Theft Auto V came out in 2013 so I wasn’t expecting the highest of “graphics” but what I was expecting was the writing to be up there with a 5090 in terms of “graphics”… oh boy, I got it!

This game is insane and I love it. Trevor is my favourite so far!

You wouldn’t think there would be much filmmaking techniques here but oh boy there is. Did you notice each character has a different shooting aesthetic/shooting style? You do now… Let’s dive in and warning! I high-pitch laugh a lot in this.

Can’t wait for part 2 or GTA 6. Play The Tape!

Excited for this but only a minute into your reaction and they cut like 10 mins of the North Yankton intro already. This video chosen was probably not the best. It has already hurt the pacing so I hope you catch onto that at some point during the video because this will be rough if not lol.

This is edited very quick. The game tells a lot of story while driving around. Definitely worth playing. The best dialogue is while driving.

I like a challenge. So far, nothing has not, not made sense. The problem I was facing is every video out there had a lot of gameplay and I wanted a video with none because I know this is my cup of tea. As in I would love to play it... Eventually. It's on my backlog.

Think I have to agree with this, like another comment said there's a bunch of stuff that's said in gameplay that's been cut. Edit: After reading Kai's comment since it was posted at the same time I did this one lol, fair enough to Kai. Guess it gives him the chance to enjoy the game all over again when he eventually plays it for himeself.

If you ever cover GTA 4 please avoid footage from the vanilla PC version, the console version or PC version with fusion fix are they way to go there. Also, when this GTA 5 coverage lands on YouTube a certain Australian Twitch streamer / YouTuber might appear in your comments regarding a certain plot point ;-) Just a small thing on the writing: Lamar's actor was improvising a lot, still sticking with the plot though and Franklin's actor had no prior acting experience he got a lot of support by Micheal's and Trevor's actors and the writers let him speak / talk more like he usually would.

It does so far and if I get lost or confused, I know I've got you guys there to back me up. I played Bully over Christmas and I enjoyed it loads because it wasn't all spoilt for me.

Oh gosh, just barely passed 20 minutes and they cut out a lot of dialogue that gives context to missions and scenarios. Its just heavy whiplash when one second Franklin and Michael are having a talk, and then all of the sudden they are chasing a boat.

Btw Lamar (dude in green hat with franklin) basically improvised all his lines, he never studied the script, but what he ended up saying always turned out to be really funny lol

and yeah in the cutscenes your seeing cuts a lot, looks they trying to cut out lotta n-word usage so because of that, you missed one of the funniest cutscene in the game with Lamar. I guess they just cut it all out because he says it a lot in it.

I see this is a hard cut video. But honestly... what are you missing? Some dialog while driving back and forth around the map, looking at the same place over and over. Killing and shooting, then killing and more shooting. Then a wave of killing and shooting. And at some point they change it up with some shooting AND killing. So yeah, not great for a reaction, is better to play that stuff at your own pace. Just hope you're not confused on the way. Oh, and I guess you're missing on some N words. There's gonna be a lot of awkward cuts with Franklin sections X3

Yeah it's a shame. I get cutting gameplay. But when you cut dialogue and entire cutscenes I'm starting having an issue.

Oh, and btw. Game does have some original background music in mission and cutcenes. So if you feel there's a lack of music in the video, then you're actually right. Does feel a bit weird but the music isn't AMAZING or anything. But it does add some vibe. So good job noticing the lack of music.

You reacted to GTA 5 before GTA 6 was released. Who would've thought. And also its interesting how so many people love GTA 5 for its multiplayer and all the things you can do in the world, but doesnt pay that much attention to the story that is actually pretty great. Its one of those games that show you why it has been up there in the top sales for so much time. The engine jumps are always going to work out, but still having that essence in storytelling is something that was never left behind on any game they released so far. RDR2 being one of the peaks of that

Shawn Fonteno who played Franklin (fun fact, his cousin was the voice actor for CJ in GTA: San Andreas) is from the streets of California and used to be a gang member dealing drugs. Later Fonteno was Vice President of a motorcycle club (also a gang) but then left the criminal life. Just wanted to point out Fonteno since he doesn't get a lot of the love the other actors get for their roles. Don't get me wrong, Steven Ogg deserves every ounce of praise for playing Trevor, but when you look at authenticity in a performance you can't get more authentic than Fonteno.

All of the major Rockstar games were written by the same person to my understanding (GTA 3-5, Red Dead Redemption, Bully). The problem is that he left and isn't involved with GTA6 whatsoever. According to an interview from a year or two ago his script was straight up rejected. This does concern me, because Rockstar writing has really been a selling point for me. With the main writer gone I'm really unsure how 6 will turn out.

what i really loved about this game is the immersiveness. After the incident with the phone the stock of the company drops hard. You can then buy some and later in the game it rises back up again and you can make a lot of money. but no one tolds you this i cant even remember if there even is a tutorial for the stock trade or if you have to find it out yourself

About the camera - each character has his unique camera style: Franklin- are mostly handheld- meaning low budget camera work, showing just how much of a beginner Franklin is. Michael-mostly steady shots- reflecting his proffessionalim and his love for movies Trevor-handheld with quick cuts and Crash Zooms- making it more chaotic, like you never know what is he gonna do next

GTA 4 is even better imo. Took the series in a more dark and gritty direction. The story DLCs are fantastic too. Johnny, the biker that Trevor kills is one of the playable characters in that.
