Our first martial arts movie on the channel and I’m so chuffed it was The Raid.

This movie is amazing.

This movie is a rollercoaster of an experience.

This movie has some of the best fight scenes I’ve ever seen in a movie.

This movie has sublime camera work evoking the emotion of the actors and helping us feel how hard the kicks and punches are.

This movie has the best sweeps I’ve ever f’n seen in my life!

If you haven’t already. Scratch that, even if you have. Watch this movie with me and let us go on this white-knuckle ride together.

You and I, we’re going to need some new underwear because we’re about cappuccino froth in them! 📼👀💥

Play The Tape!

P.S. I grew up with martial arts and martial art movies so guys… let’s keep this train going because it was delightful!

Oh man. Ngl, you saved my day with this. Love your content and thanks for watching this banger of a movie!

Henri Winterfeld

I cant wait for you to cover The Raid 2. Its a step up in just about everything in my opinion and it has the aboslute best fight scene i have ever seen.

Aslam

Best martial arts movie I have seen in terms of how it sells the impacts. Raid 2 is also pretty good but the first is still the most memorable for me.

Euston

Yeah, bit of a rough one, but I'll live! Loving The Raid and your reactions & input so far, love me some escapism haha

Euston

Appreciate your kind words mate! Definitely did make my day lighter, it was a joy to see that you enjoyed this movie as much as I did <3

Fredo

Man I've heard of these movies but never looked into them... My god have I been missing out, and honestly so impressive how you can dissect these scenes while so much is happening. Another banger!!

Luke

At work right now, cant wait to watch when I get home!!! Couple beers and a Kai reaction sounds like heaven!!

The Raid 2 is my favorite action movie. The variety of action scenes and improvement in narrative complexity make it a more compelling movie. Some people prefer the bare bones aspect of The Raid, but for me, The Raid 2 is a notch above.

Kai, I really enjoy your content. Been watching a lot recently and not sure if you heard it but I have to say I'm kinda surprised you didn't say anything about the use of the Wilhelm Scream. Although, I can also understand since there was a lot happening during the scene.

SP4RT4NWARRIOR

At around 33:00 when one of the police officers tackles a guy out the window. That guy has a Wilhelm Scream as he falls out the window.

Chris.N7

It was subtitled Redemption for the US release.

Jordan

Great fighting flick! Some more slightly off the beaten path titles - Ong Bak - Monkey Man - Man of Tai Chi.

Reacher

I presume he was in a content draught, was looking like a boring day, and then this dropped

Finally got around to seeing your reaction to this (first time watching it for me!), and wow. It's amazing what can be done with a small budget, this was so good! I'm excited for the sequel. Also made me think of the first martial arts movie I got obsessed with as a teen: Unleashed with Jet Li, and I wonder if you've seen it?

Connor

Surprised you didn't notice the wilhelm scream at 33:01

Kai Zammit - Filmmaker Reacts

Dude... Why have you done this to me? I would have got so angry if I had heard that. Now I've just heard it in this scene, never can I watch it again.

Connor

i can only apologise
