This episode is the episode for me. "Back for Good" is what I’m thinking and if you know the English boy band Take That (Showing my age), then that’s the song in my head as I type this.

No more faulting, Andor is the show for me. I also have a moment of sadness as Andor’s fate springs to mind thinking about Rogue One. I’ve never been so excited to watch a movie because I know the character but equally, I’m dreading it!

If I remember correctly, parts of Coruscant was filmed between London and Valencia, Spain.

Ohh boy I totally forgort about the Andor double feature you promised last week, so really excited here. I am one of those people who actually do not like the first half of the second season that much, not because they are not good episodes in their own right but because knowing that the second half is so emotionally gripping, when all the spinning plates are coming together, that the first half of the season just cannot keep up.

I'm famous. But yeah Luthen rarely ever says exactly what he means. But yeah referesher; BBY is Before Battle of Yavin aka A New Hope (0 BBY). Anything after that is ABY. I may be mistaken but I believe Andor was the first entry to actually use it on screen? It's always been used as more of an outside lore reference.

Something you may, or may not have missed, is part of the conversation between Syril and his mom. She fully believes the propaganda the Empire has put in place to sow distrust and hate of the Ghorman people throughout the galaxy, as discussed in S2 Ep. 1. The audience is seeing the fruition of that part of the plan.

just a reminder, episode 4 is the start of the next 3-episode arc of season 2, there is a year gap inbetween each arc, which why i kind of wish you would put out more episodes together, with this in mind.

also btw, when it was mentioned that grand moff tarken killed tons of unarm ghorman civilians, in lore he orders personal imperiel cruiser to land on them. it was known as Ghorman Massacre, people thought we might see it in the show, but it happened years earlier.

The night is Dank and full of Memers

The dialogue is pretty clear in eps 1-3 that Tae has to be killed. Luthen says no matter the number he asks $, Mon will always be vulnerable. She has to be protected. Tae is a vulnerability who has info they don't want to he Empire knowing, the only solution is off him. It's been a consistent theme across both seasons with Luthen's operation, any one is disposable if they risk the greater mission. Mon saying "I'm not sure what you're saying." Then Luthen's "Well how nice for you." Is clear acknowledgment he is doing the dirty work to keep her clean, and this is all her fault. Tae was sympathetic, in season 1. Then in season 2 he blatantly tells Mon, REBEL ACTIVTY has cost him his financial holdings etc. Pretty clear why he has had a switch up and isn't to be trusted, unfortunately you missed that bit when they were talking in previous episodes.

The night is Dank and full of Memers

1-3 have a lot of boring/bad elements with the stragglers group on Yavin, but apart from that its more top tier dialogue, character development and worldbuilding. Same with 4-6, but without the drawbacks of that crap Yavin plot. The only reason the payoffs in 8/9 hit so good is because of all the ground work done not just in 4-6, but from season 1 ep 4 on (first mention of Gorhman). The spinning plates can't come together if they weren't set up to spin in the first place. Definitely agree s2 eps 1-3 is the weakest of the show but 4-6 is great.

Mate, even after Chris.N7 explanation it seems you might still not get it:P Tae isn't blackmailing Mon. He lost $ because of Rebel activity. She offers to try and pay him back, to try and make things right with him, before he even mentions Davos. When he does mention Davos, it's not blackmail. It's simply the risk that Tae knows what he does, and is feeling mistreated because of how Rebel activity hurt him. Luthen tells her no matter the $ she won't be safe with him knowing what he does. Again, not blackmail, she offered the $ unprompted, but that was never the issue. He made his reasons for feeling undervalued clear.

Also thinking about it more. I would see it as a sort of blackmailing. Not quite yet but you could see where it was going. What would have happened if she said no? Would he have then threatened her?

I'm not talking about a name I'm talking about you still not understanding what is happening or why between Tae, Mon and Luthen, even with your audience explaining it. If you are talking about BBY? A lot more than a name, it's the time the events are taking place, leading up to the Battle of Yavin in A New Hope. Knowing when the story you are watching is happening is not a small detail. In general, why would you not be inclined to remember a name 16 episodes into a story? Wouldn't knowing the names of the characters 1.3 season in, typically be a sign of following a narrative and understanding the characters?
