Another Rockstar banger - holy shit!

Guys… this might be my favourite GTA game ever! Gordan Bennett, this could be my favourite Rockstar game too. We’re also only on part 1 so I need to be careful throwing out statements like that but seriously. The moment we got off the boat, I loved the world, its characters and LIBERTY CITY.

Cor Blimey!

15 minutes in and whoever did this cut seems better than gta 5, there were a lot of nice dialogues in car rides etc that were skipped in the gta 5 videos, thats part of why gta 5 seemed so fast and all over the place

I just started replaying this last week after the complete edition was on sale. This was the first GTA I ever really sunk my teeth into and was one of the games that got me addicted to video games in the first place! I was definitely too young to be playing this though lol

The PC version of this game is notoriously broken. If you go above 30fps all the cutscenes end up having that weird animation stutter and the camera is zoomed in too much. I hope that answers your question of why the camera looks "zoomed in" lol. It's because it is. It's broken. There are mods to fix it, but seems like this video might not have them applied.

The latest version of FusionFix should get you there in no time, it's a one stop shop of fixes, improvements and better PC settings options. It's also open source.

This game looked insane when it came out because it was leaps different than the last GTA game which was San Andreas. GTA 4 was when they introduced ragdoll physics with a new physics engine. I think Rockstar is still using and improving it. I must've replayed GTA 4 like 10 times when I had it.

I am also excited for this one! And I know it's only the first part of this series, however you should not miss out on Max Payne, initially releasing 2001. I already apologize for the long comment ahead. The first two games are from Remedy and the PC version is originally published by (as of my understanding) gathering of developers who got acquired by Take-Two one year before launch. Rockstar published the console versions of the first game and took over as main publisher (partnering with others) and would also later on develop a third game releasing one year before GTA V. I still got to play the first two myself, there is a remake in the works by Remedy, I only watched playthroughs but I played the third one. The third one is kinda devise in terms of story and characterizations compared to the Remedy installments but the gameplay and visuals are still top tier especially on PC. That's to say, Remedy's games are no slouch either. One thing all three games share in common is that all of them have amazing soundtracks.

I was waiting for this! Once you finish it, you should definitely watch the DLCs too. The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned. They're shorter than GTA IV, but they tell their own stories that intertwine with the main game and add a lot more context to events in Liberty City. You might even recognise some characters from GTA V too. Enjoy the journey, you've got some great moments ahead of you.

This is my favourite GTA game. I loved the darker grittier vibe that it had whilst still having that Rockstar flair. Definitely check out the DLC after the main game though. The Ballad of Gay Tony is amazing. And you may see a familiar face or two from GTA 5 in The Lost and Damned.

It's either an older video, or the man forgot to install FusionFix. That mod is basically required to play this game now.

Defiantly my favorite compared to a GTA 5, it takes itself seriously, has interesting themes, and really interesting characters to boot.

The night is Dank and full of Memers

Agreed, I was excited the entire GTA V run for him to react to the long conversation between Lamar and Trevor when you drive the vehicles to Paleto, but they cut it out:( That part is so funny and also provides a lot of important backstory for the Trevor Michael and Lamar Franklin dynamics. Such a shame!

When I got my PS3 for the first time, the first and only game I had for a long time was GTA4 and no kidding, I replayed this game consecutively, 10+ times. I'd finish the game run around the, quite honestly, worthless open world and I'd start over. I have not done this with any other game in my life. Specially now that I buy games and never play them... So a lot of this game is printed in my brain, but I haven't played or seen this game in a loooooong time. This seems to have the talking during driving, so hopefully you find those talks entertaining. And the game in general.

About mocap : "It's probably ahead of its time", not really, it's good but before that we got Uncharted & MGS4. Going back further, Final Fantasy X, MGSVR, MGS2 & 3, Onimusha, Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill 2 & 3, etc. Those guys were crazy. :D
