Hello OLD FRIEND!

I whacked on the old dusty XBOX jumper today and I’m glad I did. I felt the green power come back and surge through my body.

I wish, just wish they showed the Jet Set Radio Future Remake. I would have blown my load and mind. Especially after that crazy taxi moment and the new console design for the 25th anniversary. Shame it’s so late in the console life cycle, I’d have liked that.

I also found the console exclusive thing interesting too. They should have made Fable console exclusive. That’s where my hate would have been if they’re going down that road. Clearly need the money back for that one.

Sega though…

This week have become my champions. Sega and Capcom.

My favourite game I think from this has to be Gears E-Day followed by Fable and Halo. Holy smoking smoke stacks!

I’ve got to mention it here too but the lighting in Fable, how dark the actors are is incredible!

My favourite game of the week though still belongs to Stellar Blade Blood Rain.

I don’t have a favourite show as they all brought something special. State of Play and XBOX have the better conference format for me personally but I felt the games even though I didn’t know most of the IPS at Summer Game Fest were pretty up their man. “Hey, is that god!?”

What did you think of this show? I can’t believe how fast it went by which tells you something! Also, what was your favourite game from this presentation and what was your favourite show for the week!?

Honestly think this was the best show of the lot. Xbox finally got some games coming out, and a lot of them look really cool - even the third party they showed. Sgt Johnson has been recast in the Halo CE Remake. The original actor has been retired from VA work for over a decade now. The new guy is doing an OK job but it's hard to live up to David Scully. Chief's armour is the Mk IV armour, from Forward Unto Dawn as you noticed. We're getting 3 new prequel missions showing how Chief and Johnson built their bond. Sadly the Crazy Taxi game has the infamous AI content disclaimer on Steam (only required if AI makes it into the shipped version of the game). SEGA about to save me a lot of money if that continues into their other games. "Console exclusive" means also on PC yeah.

One of my older brothers had the original green see-through xbox and controllers and ever since I missed that aesthetic in general. Many years later it is finally back but XBOX has to do far more than that to recover from the ONE era. What you have seen in terms of lens and sound distortion in the call of duty clips is ten fold in Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days from IOI

This felt alot like a movie theater/pre-movie experience. Even the sound effects of the “world premiere” slides in between. Like a bunch of movie trailers

yeah at the end they didn't show gears 4,5, or judgement because they weren't that great. 4 and 5 aren't terrible just kind of mediocre. Judgement however.... woof

I really liked this show. Very much a Christmas week right. That console is beautiful but again, I don't want to fork out nearly a grand when I've got one that works brilliantly as is. This is definitely a step in the right direction for this brand.

It's ok if it's later down the road or never in terms covering the entire game, Dog Days is a very bleak game with tough imagery from start to finish. It's nearly none stop sensory overload. Max Payne 3 came out two years later and is more "tame" in comparison. Switching gears, there is a small game called bomb rush cyberfunk that channels some of the jet set radio vibes. I remember playing jet set radio future as a kid :-)
