We loved the Gun Fu on this channel so much that we’re back for another round… “Make it a double John!”

Bigger, badder, better - or is it? Does this movie have a sequel problem or can it be like those rare gems of franchises where the sequel is… GULP… BETTER!?!?

I’m locked, I know the formula. I’m loaded, they changed the DOP (director of photography). My trigger finger is ready, can I get my wish of seeing some more kicks and punches?

The only way to find out - Play The Tape!

Kai

P.S. I keep hearing about this Gun Kata from you guys and I’m very curious to know more… BANG.

I know I'm learning something from you Kai, "Im holding my heart, speaking from the chest" Me: "Where's the Piano?" :D

Michael Bauer

The manager of the Continental in Rome. the one you’d think is a kickboxer is Franco Nero. he is the original Django from the Western of the 1960s.

Janne Tabell

As your final thoughts, I think your gonna be really happy with the martial artists in parts 3 and 4!! Especially 4 ;)

I think if I had to pin down which I like more, I think it's the first one by a narrow margin. Purely because of the personal story involving his wife. The dog's death is more than just losing the dog. It's the last vestiges of his lost wife. The action in both is fantastic and I love how they fleshed out this assassin underworld much more in 2. By the way, you can actually find the videos of Keanu training for these films on Youtube. He learned a lot of the tactical stuff and the way he tactically reloads by flicking the gun with one hand to rapidly eject the spent mag while the other is going for the fresh one is something he came up with and actual police and military forces have adopted. Reeves is also one of the most humble and amazing people IRL. Lives fairly modestly. Buys old motorcycles and restores them, then sells them for cheap. Just for the love of the game.

This one got a lot of attention when John was getting back into action

Sam Dapper

John shoots Gianna to make sure it’s done and because she’s Catholic so suicide is a sin and would keep her from heaven.

Seyomint

John seals his gear underneath a layer of concrete instead of getting rid of it because he always knows there will be a day he will be thrusted back into the world of killers. But only for a reason he can fully commit himself to. It’s like a test of his conviction if he’s willing to hammer through concrete to return to the fold again. He had a pretty damn good reason to in the first chapter.

Your post script in the description......Equilibrium? Oh boy its been a long while since I've witnessed batman practicing gun kata!

Seyomint

You have no idea

Kieran Sweeney

I know Equilibrium isn't the best film ever, but it does hold a special place in my heart as one of my favourites. If Kai were to react to that I don't know if I'd be able to watch as it may destroy the illusion! xD

One answer to the Gun Kata origin would be the movie Equilibrium

Just commented that, the movie is quite good from a story and thought experiment viewpoint. The gun kata was first of its kind. To see a remake with up to date visuals would be a treat. Keanu Reeves Tetra Gramaton Cleric.

The Ballerina spin off movie takes place between the 3rd and 4th John Wick movie. A def must watch because as a spinoff it did a good job. Recommended to either watch it after you finish the 4th movie, or after the 3rd for chronological order.
