Great timing, just watched the Resident Evil movie today. You should check it out too, Kai

gaMerfUll

Glad you're finalizing continuing this series. And damn, this videos really is edited. In a neat way, mind you. But be aware that the actual game is paced and ordered differently. Specially the very start, that's just a tape you get around the middle of the game. If you ever confuse this with a film, don't feel bad. Bro here made his own movie with RE2!

Triedge101

Yea yea yea!! RE 2 is GOATED!!

Dobin

Oh man you need to cover the dead space remake as well

Jess Landry

It's so friggin gooood, the cinematography, the giggles, its all really good. Not without my complaints but they don't ruin anything. Mostly just worried that they made sequel stuff difficult for themselves.

To answer your question, yes, the original RE2 was also PlayStation one so it was the same tank controls with the fixed cameras like the first game. This is actually a true remake and every sense of the word. The locations are familiar and easily recognizable. But they remade everything into 3-D models and the camera moves. Probably one of the best remakes I’ve ever seen. Also, I probably should’ve mentioned. The way these games work is you got two playable characters that you can pick from. And there’s two sides. You pick one character and you play through the entire game as them. Then using the save when you complete that game, you continue to the B side, which is the other character that you didn’t pick initially as they do their thing while you were doing your thing during the first run. And then you flip it you start as the other character initially and then do the B side of the one you didn’t do through that playroom. And it’s different too, especially on the second run. What this video effectively did was clipped together scenes from both angles at the same part of the story as if they were the first runs dude kind of interesting the way they did it, but it looks good

Do you think you'll rewatch RE9 after 2 and 4 and maybe 6?

twigpaw

i think theres a video glitch at 1:54:23 i dont know if its just my computer but a big orange square pops up for a few seconds

This edit of the game does such a great job of stitching the two sides of the story together into one continuity. The way it worked was that both characters had individual campaigns that were about 75% the same, except for cutscenes and the sections involving Sherry/Ada. Thats why there are many continuity errors that you noticed, as while these two stories are technically happening simultaneously it isnt exactly how the video portrays them. Also another thing to mention is Chris's letter. The reason it didn't sound like him was intentional, as it was a coded message to Jill and Barry. After the Mansion incident, the survivors started to investigate Umbrella corporation. Hence why Chris mentioned the 'extra large Umbrella' in his letter and why he was extending his stay in Europe, bc he needed more time to investigate the company

Jay

awwwww sheeet just in time for october season!!

Thomas Jenner

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, i have been waiting for this was, very exited

Sputnik

I think they're playing with infinite ammo? I remember the game being very stingy with ammo, especially early, so you couldn't kill everything and most you'd have to dodge or shoot in the leg to slow them down.

Knoh One

The movie rips, I caught a few things I learned from this channel and was doing the Leo snapping meme in the theater

Chris Tylee

I know you’re old enough to know those thriller lyrics off by heart 😂

Generate_None

The new resident evil movie is definitely worth checking out. You have a great sense of humor and that movies gonna have you laughing hard as hell 😂

MrWinston953

As someone who has played this version of the game multiple times, I don't like how this is edited. The scene with the guy with the briefcase being shot was from like the last 3 hours of the game normally. I have no idea why they showed it at the very beginning. Also, you choose who you want to play as before you start the game and you play most of the game as that character. Then once you finish it, you can play a shorter version of the other characters perspective. I'm not a filmmaker or anything though so my opinion might not matter as much when it comes to the editing.

So excited to see this man 🤩🤩🤩 re2 remake is one of my favorite games of all time RE1-3 used the classic fixed camera angles, re4 onward and the remakes use modern 3rd person views

Dylan

If I had to guess, I'd say they're probably playing with a mostly disabled in-game HUD on a gaming monitor with its own OSD crosshair.

So glad you are finally covering this! I want to mention tat you weren't wrong about the chief of police. He is 100% one of the most sickening characters written in gaming, you just need to read the extra lore bits. Especially if you go to the OG, first time meeting him is even more sickening for a worse reason. I'll leave it to you to watch in your free time if you want. I will leave you with this though. This is a note written by Irons about his poached animals that he is turning into taxidermy (despite being a self-described "animal conservationist - everything about this freak is a lie), the last "animal" on the list is gross: "Taxidermy Log White-Tailed Deer (Male, approx. 6 years old) Place of capture: Arklay Mountains Length: 6'1" Weight: 353 lbs. Pleased with how it turned out, but I'm getting tired of working on these puny things. May be time to move on to more challenging animals. Siberian Tiger (Male, approx. 4 years old) Place of capture: Khabarovsk Krai Length: 9'6" Weight: 529 lbs. I nearly came when I sliced its yellow belly open and its warm guts spilled out. I still smell of wild beast. This is the life. Pig (Female, 22 years old) Place of capture: Raccoon City Length: 5'3" Weight: 110 lbs. The specimen's body is soft, sweet, and white all over. And it's all mine. Forever."

I think he should at least rewatch Leon's parts on his own and tell us his thoughts. Leon's story in all of the games building up to the tragedy told in RE9 with Leon's character. All that guilt built up and was eating at him all of those years just because he felt he failed to save them. It's why his emotional scenes work so well in that game especially because most of us would feel the same way.

LimitlessEntertainment

This was edited together to the best possible ability it could be, besides maybe putting those tapes at the front of the game. I don't mind it but there isn't much else wrong with the video so I'll forgive it

Alan Stock

In the original game you had a Leon playthrough and a Claire playthrough as well. In that one they really did play out like a parallel story. However in the remake their seperate playthroughs are a bit like alternate timelines, in that they go through the same events with some key differences. I think the Claire one ends up being canon going forward. Definitely worth just having a wee watch of the start of the OG Resi 2 on Youtube just so you can appreciate how drastic the remake is in comparison!

LordKnoppers

You will always be my buddy-cop-system 👍 Sorry for that I had to do it.

Petter

''Dont just stand there'' ''You know what would make that enemy really interesting, is if it was blind'' Well Kai, it is in fact.... blind, thats why you see the player stand still every now and then xD haha

Ryan

Bro, the timing is unreal. I just rewatched reaction to the first Transformers movie when you uploaded your reaction to the second. Then yesterday I just got done re-watching your reactions to Resident Evil 9 and then you uploaded this. What the hell? Do I have the power to conjure these reactions? Hmm... What to watch next...?

Ryan

Well... It is in theater's, or the Cinema's for you bri'ish folk. Matter of fact, because of you, I tried to used what I've learned and look at the film through my rookie film making eyes. Well... I tried too anyway. 😅

Astro

Let’s go!! Love this series so much I know you’re gonna have an absolute ball! Looking forward to your thoughts

Carlos

Are u gonna react to Spider Man Brand New Day mate ? New director than the previous trilogy, really enjoyed this one the best. Would love to hear your thoughts on it

furby

I dont have anyone else said this but you really should re-watch some parts of RE9 raccoon city chapter after you finish this. Some scenes might hit different😁 Keep up the good work!! Ps. Still hoping alan wake 1 & 2 would fit in this spooktober😅

Seyomint

Love the intro. You were very dialed in, anticipating a jump and you did jump haha

DefaultArk

Sherry is the Leons partner in RE9, the one he talks on the phone to

Daniel Allen

RE9 was very much designed along the thought process of "How would we build RE2 today?" but as a sequel

Andy

Love this game, an amazing remake. I recommend re-watching the Raccoon City bits from your RE Requiem reaction. You'll understand more as it's the exact same map.
