That LIGHTING tho! The lighting not only makes this movie an absolute eye catcher, it makes the movie “feel” incredible. It takes the story to another level and made this world “feel” real. WOW! This is what I’ve wanted from a Marvel superhero flick for years.

I’m so glad it was my boy Spider-Man who got the treatment. Chefs kiss for this DP - Brett Pawlak.

Destin Daniel Cretton (Director) has created what I would call, the closest to a live action perfect Spider-Man feature film. It’s a love letter to the character. What I think makes it better is the subtle nods to the previous Spider-Men characters, actors and movies… Not to forget the games too. I saw some of those carbon copy takedowns.

Look, it will never beat the Spider-Man animated movies. That is art, literally every frame is a wallpaper.

This however was a fun, superhero fatigue eliminator, popcorn, soda necking goodtime.

Like I mention in the post watch review and the intro I think…🤔. If I was going to come back and watch a new superhero movie. It was to my boy, the SPIDS.

I literally had no interest in watching this movie other than sharing the experience with you guys to talk film shop and break it down as a contemporary piece. That is the sad truth to the over exposure of the Superhero Flick! Saying that… By golly I’m glad I watched this movie.

What I find interesting though is by watching this feature, it goes to show you how good the original two Spider-Man pictures are. Here on the channel if you want to check them out. Under the Spider-Man Binge collection. This movie though is the closest I’ve felt to those 2. The power of having a bloody practical suit maybe?!?!

My favourite scenes in this are not the action-packed mega-smashers, it’s actually the intimate ones between characters. This is where the director really shines and looking at his body of work. I’d be all over those.

Couple of moments in this…

I recognise one of the actors as I’ve worked with him before. I directed him! Made my eyes water to see him doing so well. I show a few high-key lit clips from that shoot in the post review watch.

In the Intro, I discuss lenses a tad or more about what happens when you have a smaller lens hole compared to a larger sensor. I even show you what I do to my camera every time I hit record.

I hope you enjoy the movie with me guys and like I mention in the video. I’ve purchased all the other Tom Holland movies so we will be covering those at some point.
