This is the perfect example to teach you to shift perspectives to enjoy a movie however!!!

You’ve paid to see this movie. You’re a fan of the franchise, you expect to see more of that familiar format… Should you have to shift your perspective? Is that a fair thing to expect an audience member, a fan of your movies to do!?

I don’t think so. However!

What are you supposed to do when you’ve been told to make a movie with caveats? 40 million sheets in your pot, your key writer is busy doing something else and you can’t go full in on the horror because of a mass shooting in real life.

I think Wes Craven did a good job here considering his hands and legs were tied up! I had fun with this movie and isn’t that how a movie should make you feel?

I mention this quite a few times, this doesn’t feel like true horror or a true Scream film if I’m being honest. More like that Christmas special or side project you see on Netflix and Amazon Prime.

With all that though, man did this movie make me laugh. Again, once I shifted my frequency, I was dialled in and yeah, fun, fun and more fun.

In the post watch review, I go further into the criticisms and agree, disagree and defend why the movie did what it did. We also discover a few things about the cast which also didn't help Mr Craven.

Either way, this is not to be missed and guys, Play the SLASHING tape!

P.S. Ghostface is still my favourite killer and I can’t wait to see more!

Love the music cues (in these first 3 scream films, vocal elements in the score!). Always felt like the locations in which the action took place in the mid-last act were so underwhelming. Should have set Stab 3 in a Shinning style hotel, pre shooting publicity tour with new actor & old characters, re-writes taking place as thing escalate! Great reaction, fun watch along!

This movie definitely felt more chaoti than previous ones and the comedy aspect felt like it reduced the stakes. Also, the last time I've seen the previous Scream movies was in your reviews, and that was enough time for me to forget who Roman even was. When he removed his mask I was like "who is this". I don't even remember if he was in this movie that we just watched lol. I can accept that I might have dementia but it also kinda makes me think he was a forgettable character.

Can't wait for you to see "Saw" movies. I am sure you will love the character of Jigsaw.

I forgot about Jay & Silent Bob being in this movie as a cameo.

I get Harvey Weinstein "vibes" from some of the innuendo in this movie

I didn't remember that Randy's legacy video was also parodied in Scary Movie 1.

I bet it was a "full circle"

Damn. We definitely positively deserved the "original" script

I liked Scream 7 as well but it clearly is not as good as other ones. Scream 7 was better than this one for me

I think in scream 4.. Paul Dano is scream face but dressed a mr whippy (beware the jingle of his ice cream van!) & turns up at some directors house.. turn's out that Dano's brother is Matthew Lillard! Think it's called Once upon an ice-scream! (Director has a massive head like Frank Sidebottom & just keeps running into Walls!)

Scream 4 is top 3 in the franchise
