I’m not a Call of Duty lad alright, I’m not really into my guns either. I’m okay with “army” movies etc but that whole area just doesn’t float my boat.

This HOWEVER! This was like a Mission Impossible but directed by Michael Bay!

I was absolutely hooked on this campaign and can I just add, I’m a cold caller to this franchise, story and characters yet somehow, I felt so connected with the world, heroes, naughty heroes and villains.

One of the best stories I’ve experienced this year and maybe I feel this way because it so isn’t my thing. I feel happily violated. Absolutely bonkers but absolutely RIGHT!

im not done with the campaign myself but what ive seen so war is 10/10, its the best rated campaign since bo1 in 2010 and i agree

While this is cool, I ended up leaving the COD series, as they where just becoming so predictable, every game was pretty much the same no innovation in gameplay, storylines also became predictable for each game. They just weren't fun to play.

Oh, I’m well aware of that. Call of duty kind of lost me after modern warfare two, the original on the 360. Everything since then I just got tired of the 4 to 5 hour campaigns and everything thrown into multiplayer that I care nothing about. Especially once they started requiring Warzone, which I will never play to be installed to be even to access the game. That’s like 90 GB of SSD data taken up that I will never use that I don’t want or need. So by watching your reaction, I get to see the campaign and hang out and now I don’t have to pay it to see it. Looks good so far. Although I did notice on Steam, the team use generative AI Tools to develop assets. Take that how you will.

I was afraid you were gonna watch the GameClips video. They cut out some stuff. Like it doesn't even show you the first encounter with the North Korean troops where they drop into the stadium via parachute.

I want to preface that I am a HUGE fan of these games. it takes a lot for me not to like them. Especially campaigns, but if you plan on running through these eventually, i feel like there are a few you can skip and be alright. do whatever you feel of course but i believe these are the best in terms of stories, writing, action, and intrigue which i am emphasizing since you said you aren't into war stories. also, each studio had 2 years to make these games. Treyarch known for Black Ops and Infinity Ward know for Modern Warfare. Thats how they can pump them out yearly but you can imagine that still isn't a lot of time to work on a game but they still manage to make them great. the multiplayers is where the debates come from usually. in 2014 they jumped to 3 year cycles by adding in Sledgehammer Games. So here is my personal list that i think a lot of people would agree with, should you continue. Call of Duty 1 - 3 you can bypass because they are pretty generic and just old PS2 games. not much to really talk about. but the fourth is when it became groundbreaking and upped their engine and graphics. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - IW, 2007 (does have a remastered version) World at War - Treyarch, 2008 Modern Warfare 2 - IW, 2009 (does have a remastered) Black Ops - Treyarch, 2010 Modern Warfare 3 - IW, 2011 Black Ops 2 - Treyarch, 2012 Call of Duty: Ghosts - IW, 2013 Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - SHG, 2014 Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare - IW, 2016 Call of Duty: World War 2 - SHG, 2017 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - IW, 2019 (this is where they reboot into this story you saw) Black Ops Cold War - Treyarch, 2020 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II - IW, 2022 I left out Black Ops 3 because it is a GREAT game as a whole but the campaign is forgettable, made for co-op so a bit clunky, and the story completely disconnects from the first two and isn't much to praise and thats coming from someone whose favorite is BO3. Also left out Vangaurd because it rehashes WW2 again and it just isn't very interesting. I didn't even make it more than 20 minutes. One of the lowest rated games in the whole franchise. Black Ops 4 doesn't even have a campaign mode. They scrapped it and made a Battle Royale instead since that was around the time Fortnite blew up. Also did not include MWIII which was the previous addition of this story obviously but the recap at the beginning honestly summed up the whole thing. Graves and Shephard betray you and you kill him at then end. It was a total less than 3 hours story with only barely an hour of cinematics because SHG made it after the publisher told them to step in and take over for Infinity Ward because that was their year but whatever they made, Activision hated and made them start the whole game over. You did Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 came out last year but it is probably the worst story for the same reasons as Black Ops 3. Bloated, made for co-op, and probably pretty rushed because it was pushed up a year early (was supposed to release 2026 instead) since they just finished the 6th game the year prior. Hell if you would like, maybe we could coordinate these and I can make the videos for you? i've watched enough of your videos to confidently say i am good enough to know what im doing, make the gameplay look decent, now when to cut or when to drag on. If not, you could grill me about it 🤣 The only ones i don't have access to is World at War and Modern Warfare 3, but i can do all the others.

If you ever do another COD cutscenres breakdown/reaction I highy recommend Cod 2019 Modern Warfare as I think this one and 2019 are the best of the 4 modern warfare games campaign. Both are better than the new black ops 6 and 7 imo as campaigns

Love this game. This video cut out A LOT tho. Especially during the first and second mission. I mean most of the first mission isn't present and most of the second. They even cut out fight scenes. In the second mission you kill off one of Makarovs generals from the third game and the video doesnt show it at all. That is wild

There's some really great stuff in the Modern Warfare games but man, nothing in the series comes even slightly close to Black Ops 1 when it comes to story telling IMO. A lot of the team that made BO1 were ex-Bond devs so it goes in a more spy-action movie sort of direction. Highly, highly recommend if you haven't experienced it before

Didn't expect COD lol, that's for sure. From what I've seen these recent games certainly look very good visually, but when all is said and done I can never and could never support a series that is quite literally backed by the CIA and used as pro-American war propaganda.

this games campaign is meant to serve as a bit of a redemption for infinity ward, with MW2's campaign being a big ehh and MW3 universally agreed to be utter dog shit. edit: im of course talking about the reboot series, not the original games, they were all good

Dude if you have the time Id love for a fan of these games to do a playthrough really highlighting the game at its best, Id make sure every part of Black ops 1 is shown in full. that was a foundational game for younger me.

Glad to see you stepping into COD! The franchise gets a bad wrap as a Military Hell yeah game but they are more layered than the surface seems and carry very heavy themes around war and how it manifests. If you want a real blockbuster cod game with the first voiced protagonist Black ops 1 is your best bet. Its a cold war thriller esq game that has some incredible moments and a very Iconic plot. That isnt to take anything away from the horrors of World at war and the incredible polish of MW 2007/MW2 2009 and MW3 2011. I love all of these games, But everyone has a favorite. The run of games simply put in terms you may understand is like if all the John wick movies dropped back to back in the span of 4 years out of nowhere.

1:04:15 she was a girl boss in the second game, and Laswell was the same. The second game had a few cringey moments, but it was still pretty awesome. The third game? Don't even get me started. This entry made her a little less obnoxious, but it is apparent in the other entries.
