The diorama paired with that chopin piece gets me everytime. When these came out I was probably about 7, and I remember seeing the diorama ad on tv. Blew me away even then!

It clearly left that lasting impression on you! It's mad to think that you can remember a tv ad from that long ago. I can too including some jungles/stingers.

The piano during the diorama viewing on the last bit always brings the waterworks. I try to put myself in their shoes and when Chief raises his head it chokes me up. The hope you know that gave the Marines was palpable. Reminds me of a cutscene before the second mission of Halo 3 when they bring Master Chief back to base after he crash lands and when he steps out of the pelican to meet with Miranda Keyes a marine says "No way, A Spartan?!" and another marine with bandages over his eyes says "For real? You better not be.." then the first marine responds back with "No man, he's here! We're gonna be alright!". You can tell just how much hope the Chief alone brings humanity and in his fellow soldiers. God I miss the old Halo and hate 343 and Paramount so much for how they've butchered my all time favorite video game series.

I've seen the first series but not the second, I'm guessing from your mini review you wouldn't recommend it then no?

First series as in the first trilogy? There are small bits of Halo 4, 5,and Infinite that are good but overall the games (gameplay, story, mechanics) were butchered beyond oblivion. Halo 4 had a pretty decent story but the mechanics, gameplay, and reskinning of all the characters was very bad. Only redeeming quality of Halo 5 was that it included Master Chief's original fireteam composed of other Spartan II's (Kelly-087, Frederick-104, Linda-058) from the books, but other than that the whole game needed to be thrown in the garbage. In Halo Infinite they had soooooooooo much potential. They brought back the original trilogy aesthetic, connected the stories between Halo Wars 2 and the ending of Halo 5, but then they massively dropped the ball. SO much happened off-screen. **Spoilers** The story is basically Chief running around the Ark with cutscenes that try to leech off your nostalgia but aren't anything more than 2 characters talking usually. They destroyed The Infinity off-screen, Atriox dies off-screen, you don't see Captain Lasky, The Spirit Of Fire nor anyone from Halo Wars 2 is in it, and there's so much more. Th Act Man on YouTube does a phenomenal job explaining it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noKLXT9m8z0 The first 40 minutes he says the good stuff about Infinite. From 39:58 to 52:25 he talks about where Infinite falls short in terms of story and cinematics. If it won't let you click the link the video title is "Why Is Halo Infinite's Campaign SO AWESOME And... MEDIOCRE?!". I'm not gonna sit and ask you to watch all 1hr and 10 minutes of the video, even though it's a good one, so I provided you with the time stamps to the most important 12 minutes.
