Patrick

Hahaa now what is this? 😅 Will need to check it out on my next break

lee eames

Damn I was hoping for Dark city. Still haven't seen Love and other drugs could be good. Please add 'One flew over the cuckoo's nest' to the spinner next time.

Kenny Shoulders

Deep Blue Sea will give Chi exactly what she wants.

Burárum

This is fun, I suggest Blow (2001)

John West

One Flew over the Cukoo,s Nest and The Warriors, lovely as always Ladies.

Tim

This is so fun and a great idea! I suggest - Battle Royale (2000)!

Blaine

Love this idea for all the patreoners! It's like a Movie Munchies casino!

JD

The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)

MatthewJ

It must be difficult trying to make everyone happy. But, I appreciate all the content here on patreon.

Snick

I would recommend thrillers - Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho or The Machinist. BTW out of your spin list - my favorite one is easily Lost In Translation. Captain Phillips is also pretty decent. Cant wait to watch.

Fff

King Arthur (2004).

Duncan

The Untouchables (1987)! Or Trainspotting (1996). 🙏 (Edit)…. Anyone who hits ‘like’ on this gets a certified vinyl copy of the Untouchables soundtrack by Ennio Morricone, plus a VHS copy of Battleship Potemkin….. 👀 (Edit 2) Also, anyone who hits ‘like’ will get a free VHS copy of the last seventeen minutes of Star Wars recorded off the telly in 1981. 👍🙏

Naxtirm

I like hearing the team's opinions on films before they are chosen. It's fun to hear what types of movies get the group excited. Chi, liking "killing," was an interesting revelation. The stakes have never been higher.

Duncan

I left my request, but to be fair…. the world needs more people to watch Hitchcock’s Psycho for the first time. 🙂

Danny Garlin

King Arthur 2004 or deep blue sea or the meg or karate kid 2 and 3

Katie Davis

Oooh Captain Phillips is a really intense but really good movie. Another good one with Tom Hanks that you all haven't watched is "Road to Perdition."

Justin Edwards

1. Memento 2. 28 Days later / 28 weeks later

JoJo

Wasn't sure if any of you ladies had seen the 1989 Tim Burton directed film BATMAN starring Jack Nicholson as The Joker and Michael Keaton as Batman but that is a real good movie just saying 😁

Proto Type

I really like the new Movie Wheel. My suggestion is: The Grey (2011)

murph

Resident Evil . (2002)

Chris Kodama

Movie suggestions: 1. The Hunt (2020) - Directed by Craig Zobel 2. Alita: Battle Angel (2019) - Directed by Robert Rodriguez 3. Hanna (2011) - Directed by Joe Wright 4. Fried Green Tomatoes (1991) - Directed by Jon Avnet 5. The Color Purple (1985) - Directed by Steven Spielberg

Andy

They HAVE seen it. It's on their channel

Slade W

"About Time" : )

JoJo

My bad thanks for the heads up

Pauly

"Sometimes I love Killing a lot" - Chi ... Brilliant! LOL. I'd actually like to see them watch A Time To Kill, but it's probably not really what Chi is expecting. haha For my suggestion: The Way Back (2010) with Colin Farrell and Ed Harris. In my view an underrated film and one I think they'll enjoy.

Andy

Karate Kid 2

Alex Wilson

blade runner then solomon kane

mundanelotus

Memories of Murder (2005) a Korean murder mystery film, really good!

Derek Toth

Chi you'll like Captain Phillips. Based on a true story. I like the wheel spin. You're always thinking on how to improve your channel 👏 My 2 suggestions are 1. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. And 2. (3) either Gremlins or Poltergeist. Love 💙 my Movie Munchies. I don't watch movies anymore unless you're down in the corner 😏

Eddy

My favourite suggestions: Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two (not to be mistaken with an earlier, execrable version from 1984!). The 2 films are adapted from possibly the most famous Science Fiction novel of all time of the same name, published in 1965 (3 years after I was born), a book of phenomenal depth and richness to rival Lord of the Rings. It does NOT copy Star Wars, because any obvious similarities are because George Lucas was copying Dune when he wrote the script in the late 70s! The book and films are far more mature and intriguing. They are directed by Denis Villeneuve (who made Sicario), a Canadian who might be the most artistically successful director working today, and they are incredible to look at. Blade Runner and its sequel Blade Runner: 2049 (made some 40 years later). Blade Runner was directed by Ridley Scott straight after he made Alien (he directed Gladiator, amongst many other famous films). It is considered the film that created the whole dystopian future city theme, is about androids who pass as human being marked for extermination and stars Harrison Ford, who was the world’s most successful actor in those days (think Tom Cruise). I’m not sure if you realised he was the star of The Fugitive, plays Han Solo in Star Wars and is the eponymous star of the Indiana Jones films. Blade Runner: 2049 is directed by Denis Villeneuve, has a different visual but equally stunning aesthetic and is just as worth watching. Memoirs of a Geisha. Once again, it’s based on a famous bestselling book of the same name (even better than the film, if you like to read). It looks fabulous, is brilliantly acted, and has a very moving, romantic story, set as it is in pre-war Japan and into the Second World War. I guarantee that Katie would love it (as would you), and that she would cry her eyes out, as did I! I’m also absolutely certain Katie would adore Shogun, although it is a series on Disney+, so might not be suitable for reacting to. If not, please recommend it to her for watching privately. Yet again, it is based on a bestselling book. Think of a longer and better version of The Last Samurai, only this time set in medieval Japan with an English sailor being shipwrecked. It stars the very talented and beautiful Japanese actor, Anna Sawai. Once more, I was absolutely absorbed and had to rewatch the entire series. Remains of the Day. It’s a British period /historical piece set in 1930s England at a stately home that wouldn’t normally be my thing, but I guarantee you would love it, because it is a brilliant character drama starring Anthony Hopkins that comes from left field the way that Gran Torino does (but don’t let that put you off, because it is justifiably famous). And, yes, it is based on a famous novel by the Japanese author Kazuo Ishiguro. It is probably the most emotionally powerful film I have ever watched. John Carter. It’s a big budget sci-fi/fantasy adventure by Disney that was meant to be their answer to Star Wars but didn’t do well at the box office. Many people think it is criminally underrated, and even an old friend of mine who usually doesn’t like such films thought it excellent. It’s based on a story, A Princess of Mars, by the famed American author Edgar Rice Burroughs (of Tarzan fame), and is about an American Civil War veteran who is magically transported to Mars where he meets with a beautiful princess from a dying civilisation. It is very romantic, funny and highly entertaining. Jerry Maguire, one of Tom Cruises best and most famous films.

I second The Way Back.

Chi is always out for blood !

Ah well, maybe we'll get some good movies next time 😂

Jonathan Kidman

This is a great idea! I suggested love and other drugs under the poll post, I feel like I've won the lottery! I think you girls will really enjoy it, captain Phillips is also a really good film, honestly most of the films on that wheel would make it for a good reaction, although if you do dark city make sure to do the directors cut, the theatrical version is 1 hour 40 minutes the directors cut is 1 hour 51 minutes just so you know you've got the right version as the theatrical cut spoils a major reveal in the opening scene. I'm also happy that this seems to be a group reaction as I much prefer that to the solo reactions, the chemistry between you girls and the conversations about the film is part of what interests me most about your reactions. Anyway as per your instructions I will submit one movie (plus a couple of backup choices) to put on the wheel, which will be very difficult, I choose the following movie; Cloud Atlas (2012) If for any reason you don't want to react to that one as a backup choice I choose; Send Help (2026) And if that choice was too recent then I suggest; Witness (1985)

Mario

"In The Mood For Love" is probably the best movie I've ever seen that rarely gets reacted to. That's probably because it's a Cantonese-spoken movie. "Doubt": a banger movie that's not popular on Youtube, some amazing acting in that movie.

Andy Garcia

may I suggest Scent of a woman.

Mario

No kidding 😅 At least Captain Phillips is critically acclaimed and gave us a pretty popular meme

Auvern

Akira Kurosawa's Stray Dog (1949).

Mondayisminceday

Good idea and Captain Phillips is a great movie to start with! Loads of suggestions will come though so I'll start with the letter A: - Arrival (2016) - About aliens arriving on earth but not an action movie. It's very deep and moving with your fav Hawkeye - Amadeus (1984) - About the life of Mozart and won a bunch of Oscars - Argo (2012) - Based on a true story about the CIA creating a fake movie to help US Embassy staff escape Iran in 1980.

k12345

Sleepers (1996) Would my pick to be added to the wheel.

Gaëtarrow

Hello munchies. Good idea to do that. It's a win-win, people can see your taking suggestion in account and that their movie will come one day. I think it will be a good idea to find a way to keep people informed. but of course, you do what is the most easy for you! "i like the killing" well with some of the recommandation she will be happy !!😅 Evil Chi will be satisfied ! Hard to choose a favorite one... but you already have Short circuit and King arthur in the spinner. (excalibur is also a must see with king arthur, same character, different version of the story), So another suggestion not very popular... "Ben-hur" ( a clasic from 1959 . not the new one) ,"Indochine" (1992, if you manage to find an english version or with english subtitles. it's a french-Vietnamese one) or "Sinbad legend of the seven sea" (2003, Animated and underated, but so fuuunnnn!!) Have a good day munchies !

1. She's out of my league 2. Run Hide Fight

Great idea, looking forward to Captain Philips. My suggestion Soldier (1998) My back up Forbidden Planet (1956)

Gizmo_Mogwai_

hahaha...people not watching the whole video. One suggestion each folks! Should check out Oceans 11, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon.... 😁🤣

Tinker Greg

"Sherlock Holmes" (2009) starring one of your favorite actors. There is also a great sequel, "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" (2011).

Daryl 👽

Man in the Iron Mask was mine. ALMOST BUT SO CLOSE 😭🤣 My recommendation for the next one is: Rumble in the Bronx (1995)

Lokior

Good on Chi for always being great and innovative. Personally “Lost in Translation” might be my favorite romance film, it’s so perfect

Cayman Cider

Hella should grab some recommendation and form a list on a spinny wheel too. I have faith she’ll pick some good ones

Daryl 👽

Looking forward to Captain Phillips! No spoilers but you will recognize a familiar face! Haha

Digitalversager

Chi "Sometimes I love killing a lot", Yuna and Katie automatically move back to the other side of the sofa, Chi sees this and quickly adds "in movies".😅 That's a great idea! There are a few things you could perhaps clarify. If my recommended movie isn't chosen, does it remain in the selection, or should it be recommended again? This is only relevant if you create a completely new wheel of movies each time. And should new recommendations be made under this post or the original post? Another recommendation from me is Pride and Prejudice (2005). A wonderful romantic movie based on a novel by Jane Austen. Keep up the great work, you ladies are awesome!💜

Sean Bowden

Captain Phillips was a banger. Good choice Wheel!

Christian

“Dazed and Confused” (1993)

Gone Girl.

Thomas Simmons

I actually worked on Love & Other Drugs. The company I work for made props for the sets. So that will be interesting. Old movie suggestion: A Patch Of Blue (1965)

BangorsMostBaked

Great idea ladies! For my recommendation I would suggest "Prisoners" (2013). Some very recognisable actors and it certainly pulls at the heart strings! Keep up the great work! ❤️🤘

Alex Anderson

Some of these movies are well known and well loved and would bring in lots of views on Youtube. I mean Pineapple Express and Lost in Translation, Time To Kill, Glengarry Glenross...all famous movies that people on Youtube would love to see too I'm sure. I've been waiting for a Children of Men reaction so that's the one I'd nominate.

Ryan Zeller

You should do a reaction to a movie called The Protector (2005) starring Tony Jaa. This movie is a bit like Taken, but the martial arts is amazing. It's actually one of the best martial arts films I've seen. I came across some channels on YouTube who did reactions to it, and they got pretty solid views.

Chi wants some killing and Katie is probably ready for another bad azz girl movie after Kill Bill. " The Long Kiss Goodnight " from 1996 with Geena Davis and Samuel Jackson. Great fun action movie and she also did most of her own stunts.

"Captain Phillips" is a great selection. My selection for the spinner is "The Northman" (2022).

If you guys want to Watch THE MAN IN THE IRON MASK you should watch the THREE MUSKETEERS first The man in the Iron mask is a sequel

Eddy

One of my all-time favourite films.

Eddy

Memoirs of a Geisha (2005), starring Michelle Yeoh, since I have to narrow down my choices (sorry, I didn't have time to watch the entire video and had already prepared a list to copy and paste!). No killing, so Chi will hate it, but Katie would love it 😋.

Rob Pitt

You're gonna like Captain Phillips, Tom Hanks is great in it. Not heard of the other film. I'd love to see you watch a few plane-based action thrillers, Non-Stop and The Flightplan

Rob Pitt

Ohhh, suggestion. If it's you three watching, why not do three wheels, each made up of movies you want to watch based on the titles. That way you all win because you'll each get one movie from a list you chose :)

Richard Scott

Awesome idea! A few others have suggested pans labyrinth which is a fav of mine so gonna say that too!

Jese Sanchez

Love this idea!!! Some movies that I love that are based on true stories are: Seabiscuit (2003) and Secretariat (2010)

tommy23

Heat, True Grit, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Man who shot Liberty Valance are all very popular and well-liked. They have had reactons on many other channels. I'm glad they chose Breaking Bad as their series. otherwise I watch maybe 1 out of 3 for their movies. Keep on rockin

Old or new True Grit? I prefer the latter version by the Coen brothers, personally.

The Last Emperor (1987)

Eddy

Good film and would suit Chi's taste for killing, while not being brain dead like some other Wick-edly violent films one could mention.

TippedDuke

Everyone needs some horror in their lives - Evil Dead (2013).

Eddy

Chi, you could always do like Popcorn Roulette and react to movies that Patreons pay for. They still have to agree that it's suitable for their audience, but I think they charge $250 per movie (with a suitable thank you to whoever sponsored it at the start).

Eddy

Not seen the new version, but watched the original on its release at the cinema back in the early 80s. Nothing had been seen like it at the time.

TippedDuke

It is a wonderful movie. Three very famous Asian actresses - Ziyi Zhang, Michelle Yeoh and Gong Li. Talk about a beauty overload!

Labyrinth (1986)

I'd absolutely love to see Katie react to it, because she is such a romantic. She'd be in floods of tears, for sure!

My movie suggestion is American History X. It's definitely not a comedy movie so be warned. But it's a powerful one. Either way if you don't react to it, no worries. I am happy to be here on Patreon regardless. This is a great idea. Thank you Movie Munchies 😃😃

This is a great movie. Although I love all Adam Sandler movies lol.

Digitalversager

I think it is a bad idee to creat an unequal system. The idea of the ladies is great; everyone has a chance to have their recommendations chosen, and it's a fun event for the community.

Eddy

I couldn't afford it myself at this time, but Chi and the other girls deserve to make money, so if that helped I'd support it.

Alex Anderson

DigitalVersager acts like if we had that system, that the movies people would pick would all suck and wouldn't be better than some of the garbage we already experienced (Transformers, Jurassic Park sequels)...it's like no, dude, people would probably be picking some of the movies they have suggested here like American History X, Dog Day Afternoon, Pan's Labryinth, etc. Why do you care so much if Movie Munchies were were to do this?

Alex is back in his Top G phase.😅 Aren't you Americans supposed to be strong advocates of free speech? I was just expressing my opinion, respectfully and without any personal attacks. I simply don't like these kinds of systems. I don't believe a healthy community can be built with such a two-class system. And as far as I've seen, most reaction channels don't use such a system. What's wrong with everyone having a fair chance to give their recommendation? I hope you don't fall back into your old patterns; I'd really like to keep the comment section.

I'll give some films I think you'd love and put the directors other films that you have seen next to them so you have a better idea of why you might like them: The Prestige by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight trilogy, Interstellar, Inception, Oppenheimer) Prisoner's by Denis Villeneuve (Dune, Sicario) Children of Men by Alfonso Cuaron (this would be the first, unless you count Prisoners of Azkaban) One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest or Amadeus by Milos Forman Mad Max: Fury Road by George Miller Gone Girl by David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac)

Movie Munchies

We will create a new wheel each time; otherwise, we’ll have too many suggestions, so it’s better to recommend them again. We’ll probably keep a few from the previous wheel if those movies received many recommendations.

Topcatrs88

I'm curious what you consider well known movies compared to lesser known movies. Several movies on that spinner and in the comments are very well known and the kind of stuff you are going to want to put on YouTube. Personally I would avoid patreon only movies as that's the kind of stuff that will cause discourse between you and your YouTube audience, and even cause a loss of subscribers because they are going to feel like they are being back stabbed when some viewers favorite movies end up behind a paywall while others favorites aren't.

K

There are some great movies on that 'spinner'.

Francisco

I saw the remake. It's possibly one of the worst films of all time. I'm a Tromaville fan and I could not stand the crow remake. I like to look at the good in all films even if it's not particularly to my taste but I feel the remake was just horrible. R.I.P. Brandon Lee

Kris Wustrow

haha, he did exactly what Chi asked not to do

Kris Wustrow

I definitely agree with this idea. Munchies could easily charge $200 for a "golden ticket" movie review. We must remember that this channel is their job.

np86

12 angry men

Jef Etters

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The modern version with Ben Stiller. Chi would love the cinematography because she always comments on nature scenes.

Jef Etters

I’ve seen other channels do patron exclusive reactions. It’s generally considered bonus material and an incentive for becoming a patron. It’s a perk. It doesn’t generally lead to a loss of subscribers.

WOLFZLLA

The NeverEnding Story (1984) The Ghost and the Darkness (1996) Labyrinth (1986)

Milvo

Corrected it. Thanks!

np86

Actually I'd love to see a reaction to Sister Act 1 and 2. There is music in it and since it's on patreon only, hopefully it shouldn't be an issue.

Alex Anderson

You can have freespeech DigitalV, I just don't understand why you pooh-pooh the idea so much.

Tinker Greg

For a movie starring one of your favorite actors, directed by one of your favorite directors--"Sully" 2016

Eddy

@Digitalversager, I didn't and don't wish to stoke an argument, and it's true that only Popcorn Roulette amongst all reaction channels, as far as I can see, has sponsored reactions. However, I have seen no sign of resentment amongst Patreons of the channel nor any sense of an unhealthy, two-class system. Members still get to propose their favourite films and, hopefully, get to watch reactions to some of them eventually. As mentioned, it is only an occasional occurrence that they react to a sponsored movie and, if anything, it is a treat for everybody else (search Nicki's reaction to The Bear on YouTube, which is a fantastic movie that is rarely reacted to). After all, who can afford $250 too often? I know I can't, having been unable to work the last 3 years or so because of serious illness. It never occurred to me to be offended when watching a sponsored film with Nicki etc from Popcorn Roulette. Maybe one day when I am well enough again I will have enough money to sponsor Katie to watch Memoirs of a Geisha, but meanwhile it would give me great pleasure to see Chi, Hella, Katie etc rewarded financially with a sponsored reaction from somebody else, even if the film were not to my taste! Is that not a win for all of us?

Eddy

Certainly looks that way: "MovieS Munchies", I see!

Patrick

Would love this, I'll also make that my suggestion for this post

Topcatrs88

Which I still don't agree with. I find it distasteful, doesn't matter if some reactors do it and some don't. The perks to Patreon are, you get to see the full unedited reaction footage for the movies that end up on YouTube. That is the bonus material, but locking reactions for only some movies as opposed to others behind a paywall can be seen as unfair and make some supporters feel like they are being excluded from the community. It's because of the YouTube audience that every reactor gets to where they are and the only reason reactors even have a Patreon audience in the first place. It's not fair to people who like certain movies to find out that their favorite movies that they were hoping to get a reaction too end up behind a pay wall while someone else's favorite movies end up on YouTube where they can watch them for free. Especially if they can't afford it. It's generally why I tend to not financially support reactors. It's being unfair and exclusive to parts of your audience. But again it's my opinion.

Juice

My top choice is 12 Angry Men, but since someone else already mentioned that I'm going to go with Mad Max: Fury Road

King Bob

lol, don't know either of those 2....so will be interesting

Eddy

12 Angry Men is brilliantly compelling, but Mad Max: Fury Road has already been mentioned too! I saw Mad Max 2 at the cinema on its release and then Mad Max shortly after on TV, so those hold a particular place in my heart. That was when Mel Gibson was still a beautiful man and a great actor, and I reckon both movies are better and more emotionally affective than Mad Max: Fury Road, as much as I enjoyed the latter. My advice to the Munchies would be to start with those 2 and skip the dreadful Thunderdome!

Milvo

Two films I would of recommended, thanks!

Milvo

I prefer Army of Darkness.

Milvo

We need more comedies. "Trains, Planes and Automobiles" or "Anchorman".

Digitalversager

I simply think it's a bad idea. I've seen in other communities how preferential treatment for short-term gain has led to problems. And if some people have to rely on luck while others can buy their favorite movie reaction, then you have a two-class system, whether you call it that or not. It's just unnecessary drama for the Munchies, just waiting to happen. As you said, it's not standard practice for reaction channels, and there's probably a good reason for that. Even in the community you cited as an example, you don't know what might be going on behind the scenes in DMs. It's nice that it doesn't bother you, but you shouldn't generalize from your own experience. I want to explicitly state again that this is just my personal opinion. Although, of course, I hope that the Munchies don't introduce sponsored reactions and instead continue to grow their Patreon channel with fun activities like this for the whole community. But I'm not the Munchies' manager; Chi and the team have to make these kinds of decisions. I just think it's important that if I see a suggestion like this and don't think it's a good idea, I express my opinion. PS: I hope you feel better soon!

Eddy

I'm unsure what you mean by "you shouldn't generalise from your own experience", given that is what we all do from what we learn! Sponsored movies on Popcorn Roulette are simply another Patreon tier. I had already decided I cannot afford the top tier here but I don't resent anyone here for paying more and receiving greater benefits, nor does it detract from the "fun activities". I see no reason to try to dissuade Chi from making slightly more money with the occasional sponsorship (Popcorn Roulette openly state they manage one a month). I hope she seriously considers the idea without fear the "community" will be upset, because nobody happy to see the ladies thrive could be, to my mind!

Digitalversager

What I mean is, just because it doesn't bother you doesn't mean it doesn't bother others. And please don't make it sound like everyone who dislikes the idea of sponsored videos doesn't want the Munchies to thrive. For me, it's a matter of principle; I don't like these kinds of systems. That doesn't mean I don't want the Munchies to be successful. I'm just sure it's not a good way to go about things, and as I said, I've seen these kinds of things go wrong in communities before. Ultimately, it's Chi's decision, and I don't see any harm in showing her different perspectives on it.
