Snick

This movie is in my top 10 list of movies released in the last 20 odd years. And that is a rare feat.

John

Interesting that you think human milk is gross but not cow's milk? That is cultural conditioning

Manospondylus

I love Mel Gibson but this is clearly the best Mad Max ever made. The best that will ever be made.

King Bob

lol i probably like this one the most, funny.

Robert Durant

Thunderdome is still the one Mad Max movie I've never seen. I don't know why but I just can't ever get myself interested to watch it.

Blackwargreymon00

Please react to the BAD BOYS movies after the mad max movies 🙏

Joe Stüll

One of the best things about this movie is all the practical effects. It makes such a big difference.

Opti_Frog

No doubt in my mind, Fury Road is the best action movie of the last decade. Maybe my favourite action movie of all time. I just finished watching your reaction, and i almost feel like watching it again, right away. "Back then everyone had their fill. Back then there was no need to snap anybody." These haunting and profound lines gets me every time.

Nhia Vang

Hi Movie Munchies! Can't wait to see the reaction from you girls. This movie is crazy but in a good way.

buinhg

I hope you also react to "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)", It is imo even better than Fury Road :)

Hello Munchies. let's go for the most famous, loved (and maybe Over-rated because of people) Mad-Max movies !! Well, women's milk is full of protein and can boost the immune system. But after 1 years old ( for the child I mean), it lost is efficiency. (it still work but less. we can breasttfeed until 2 years old after all) not sure you can feed an entire population (even more adult) with that either without health problem. Now I agree: hew, this is for children to grow up, not to feed adults and using woman like cows !! But let's be honest, in this one, woman are reduced to cow for milk and living uterus to breed... ( except Furiosa for some reason, that we may saw in the next one). In a way this movie is very feminist in a good way. we have woman trying to get their freedom back and not onyl by throwing away every man (because "man is Evil" like some say) but by working together in a respectfull relationship (even thoug it took time for them to be friendly to each other without a gun pointed at eachother...😅) IRL Imperator was a latin word to say "supreme comander of the army". So furiosa was clearly someone very important for Joe. Valhalla is the paradise of vikings warior. you need to die on battlefield to get there. It gave you a good idea of their militaristic idea. honour in deaht in battle and speed. "They don't even know what type of blood he has ?" yes they do, they tatooed on his back "universal donnor". I don't know how they know, but they do. The animal you look for : porcupine. and Yes it look a lot like that. In fact, sand strom can do thing like that. not as strong IRL of course (because we aren't in a post nuclear-war world). but having thunder and flying vehicles is not impossible. "Just cut off the hand !" well Katie is almost ready to live in a postapoclyptic world !! 😂 (as long as we don't have a too much beautiful lady or man with them ! 😅) the basic rules in those worlds: 1: Never trust anyone. 2) always keep a gun near your hand 3) keep with you only what or who can help (but remember rules N°1) and 4) in doubt kill it so it will not hunt you back! a In all case, no Mercy !! (it may kill you) yes, Angharad's accident (the pregnant woman) and her cesarian was savage. "No, I don't even know your name!" Nux, the bad guy turning good is called Nux. we witness Nux's redemption and he enter the hall of heroes! I love CHi in those moment ! she's shock by Immortan joe's face when he's dead but still say "torn him apart" when people are going on his body. Of course Max is leaving at the end. Mad Max is not meant to be hero people must look up at. he's not a bringer of hope neither a kind man. He's broken anti-hero wandering the world struggling to survive in a world even crazier than his broken Psyche. Torn apart between guilt to not have saved those he loved, wanting to do what's right but still trying to stay alive where everyone is killing eachother. For the conclusion Yes, the movie is so great. you said it all Munchies. . The movie has very few flaw (if not none) . But thhe only things who made me say the movie is overated is because people are always screaming "best movie of the decade" (which I dont' agree). now each one is having his preference but screaming it all the time doesn't make it real. I say it again: the movie is very good ! maybe the best of Mad Max's depending on people (I have a little preference for the 2 personnaly). but best movie all category of the decade is too much. Top 5 maybe. Top 10 certainly. I love that the movie is bassicly just a car chasse. Even you said "it speed up a lot". I heard someone compared this movie to a road runners's cartoon (looney tunes with coyote ) and it fit very well. (Just change Coyote with those crazy guy screaming, jumping with all kind of over the top equipement and clothe and there he is!) I agree All the post-apocalyptic visuals are so cool. (No wonder everyone, especially Katie, are so hype by the visuals) they took mad-max 2 style of the bad guys, the town style of Thunderdome, put ot together and push it to 1000%!! This is clearly the movie's biggest strengh. Over-the-top metal-punk post-apo. Welcome in the Mad Max's world. this movie gave Mad max his new look. It's not a wonder that Fury Road is THE reference for the post-apocalyptic with nuclear war setting. Anyway it's a very good one and a wonderfull time with you. Have a wonderful day, Munchies!

Gaëtarrow

they said it, it will be next week.

Tommy

Modern films tend to have the advantage. Bigger better production. But still comes down to preference and opinion. I much prefer Fury Road

Mark W

Lady Munchies, great reaction, but please react to Donnie Darko (2001)...Lost Boys (1987)...Butterfly effect (2004)...Mothman Prophecies (2002). Haven't seen anyone watch this one yet.

Steven

I think Mad Max: Fury Road is a great title, but I still think of this film as Hot Chicks of the Apocalypse! The actor who played IMMORTAN JOE is the same actor who played TOE CUTTER in the original 1979 film. I love when a director doesn't forget his friends. The stunts in this film are amazing and it was an experience to watch it on the Big Screen. If you get a chance, definitely watch it that way. I love how they still speak English in this movie, but enough time has passed that it is slightly different and instead of water they say Aqua-Cola. It's hard to imagine that this action-classic was made by the same director who directed Happy Feet.

Opti_Frog

I agree with every point you made, except the last one. Why is it hard to believe that a director can have range? Is it hard to believe that Steven Spielberg made Jurassic Park and Shindler's List the same year?

Daryl 👽

Didn't watch the other Mad Max films. Been waiting for the Tom Hardy one 🫣 can't wait to watch!!!

mundanelotus

I've been looking forward to you guys watching this movie and the next one!! So good!!

lee eames

It's the weakest one.

"What a day, what a lovely day" Fury Road is my favorite Mad Max movie and one of the best—if not the best—action movies of recent years. The reason the action is so good is that the action scenes were largely created using practical effects. That means stunt performers, real cars, real crashes, and real explosions. CGI was used only for certain background effects and for action sequences where filming with real actors would have been too dangerous. Yes, I know Mel Gibson’s Mad Max is an iconic figure, but for me, Tom Hardy’s Mad Max is the real deal. He is just so gritty and broken, and I really like the physicality Tom Hardy brings to the role. This Max isn't exactly talkative, I bet he had maybe two pages of dialogue in the entire movie, but he conveys so much through his eyes, body language, and the occasional grunt; it’s a truly great performance by Tom Hardy. And Furiosa is also such an awesome character. I love the scene where she tells Max she has tried to run away many times before. That reveals so much about her character, and the way Charlize Theron delivers the line lets you hear the pain that defined her life. Yet, she never gave up; she fought with such iron determination that she even earned Max's trust. I always find it interesting how many elements from the earlier Mad Max movies George Miller incorporated into this one. The basic premise, fleeing from Immortan Joe and his War Boys, is strongly reminiscent of the ending of Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, where Max drives a decoy tanker truck, manned by a few defenders, through the marauder gang. Then there are the Citadel, Bullet Town, and Gas Town, with their own distinct cultures, rules, and quasi-religious beliefs, which strongly recall Bartertown from Mad Max 3. And finally, there is Furiosa’s quest for the "Green Place", the Land of Many Mothers, which bears a strong resemblance to the Lost Children of Mad Max 3 and their search for "Tomorrow-morrow Land". By the way, Chi and Hella already know Tom Hardy, the actor who plays Max, from the movie Venom. And Nux (that’s the name of the War Boy who switches sides and sacrifices himself in the end) is played by Nicholas Hoult. Chi and Hella know him from the later X-Men movies, where he plays the young Dr. Hank McCoy, or Beast (the character with the blue fur). That was a great reaction, ladies; it was awesome to see how much you enjoyed this movie.💜

whenever I watch this movie I think about Steven Soderbergh's (director of Ocean's 11, 12 and 13) quote about the movie; “I just watched Mad Max: Fury Road again last week, and I tell you I couldn’t direct 30 seconds of that. I’d put a gun in my mouth. I don’t understand how [George Miller] does that, I really don’t, and it’s my job to understand it. I don’t understand two things: I don’t understand how they’re not still shooting that film and I don’t understand how hundreds of people aren’t dead.” George Miller directed every Mad Max film, he is the driving force behind it all, he was 70 years old when he directed this movie, he had been trying to make a version of Fury Road since the early 2000s, one version starred original Max Mel Gibson, but eventually he aged out of the role especially considering the physical aspects of the character in this film. George shot 470 hours of footage in the extreme heat of the Namibian desert, stars of the film Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron hated each other during the shoot, Tom Hardy later apologized to George and Charlize for his attitude during the shoot as he was not sure it was going to work, a lot of people thought George was out of his mind and that this film was a disaster waiting to happen, he didn't really have a script, he had storyboards, pictures that he'd written down to show exactly what the action needed to be, even though it finished shooting in 2013 it would take 2 years to edit the film because of the sheer amount of footage to work with, he hired his wife Margaret Sixel to edit the film, When she asked why he thought she should take on this project (she had never edited an action film before), Miller replied, "Because if a guy did it, it would look like every other action movie." Sixel's work paid off; she received an Oscar for Best Editing, the film won six Oscars in total and is known as one of the best action movies in modern memory. Yes , a very entertaining reaction, especially during the final action sequence you seem to go from cheering to crying to laughing to being on the edge of your seats, but I thought I'd give some context on how this extraordinary film got made, have a good day munchies.

Looney

Is it that bad? Lol, I might just be remembering the good parts. Mainly the Thunderdome fights etc.. It's been a long time since I've seen it.

Nhia Vang

A deadly car chase 😁

This movie is pure art. EVERYTHING was done so well. What I love most is Max himself. After helping Furiosa and the others, he simply fades back into the crowd. No celebration, no reward, no recognition, just a quiet departure. In a world full of heroes, Max remains one of the most humble and selfless protagonists. Great reaction, ladies!

Nhia Vang

If you want to watch more of Nux the good war boy as the actor you girls should go watch Warm Bodies 2013. Is a comedy horror love story movie. You girls will enjoy it.

Nhia Vang

Witness Nux the good war boy by watching Warm Bodies 2013. He's the main character and is a really damn good movie girls. ❤️

Henry N.

One of the best action films ever made, and probably the best of the last 15 years. (And I normally don't like action films) Undeniably stellar. I love how you have no idea what's going on for the first 30 minutes. Looking forward to the reaction!

steve oliver

I haven't seen this since theater release and remember it like Full Metal Jacket, great first half, forgettable second half. Oh well i'll just enjoy watching the ladies if I get bored. Win Win!!

RichieBIV

It has probably already been said, but I just thought I'd make sure. Nuclear war has destroyed the Earth due to the oil war, crisis, shortage, etc. So most, if not all, of the world is a wasteland, other than a few possible green places and cities. My point is there is no "go to the tropical place and everything will be okay." Nukes hit those places too. The reason Immortan Joe has all the wives, other than the fact that he's an asshole, is that he's trying to make babies free of nuclear radiation fallout. The war boy who helped them had "Larry" and "Barry," his two cancerous tumors. They were referred to as half-lifers, doomed to the effects of nuclear fallout from birth. George Miller directed all of the Mad Max films.

John West

Charlize Theron,Furiosa is from So.Africa sadly she watched her Mother kill her Father in a Domestic abuse case when she was a Teenager.

Nemo

Once you’re done with mad max, I would highly recommend that the three of you watch the Bond movies with Daniel Craig. Starting with Casino Royale (2006)

Duncan

Damn. I really want to watch ‘Bronson’ (2008), now 😂👍

michata_

i like how chi and hela trying to reassure katie that Max may have changed but he's only trying to survive and that surely he will come around. sure enough he did haha.

Evan Livingstone

Hearing Hella call it a booty trap never gets old! I love it!
