Great reaction as always – thanks! I wouldn’t worry too much about trying to understand or catch everything in the investigation. There’s a lot going on, and it’s definitely not the easiest show to follow. A lot of people have watched Season 1 more than once—I know I have. On my first watch, though, I was mostly hooked by the dialogue, the atmosphere, and the overall vibe. When it originally aired week to week, there was so much theorising and speculation online that it became part of the experience. The only other show I can think of that generated that kind of discussion was Lost, which made it even more enjoyable.

Best Bahn Mi! + Another great reaction.

Hello detective Munchies! Let's continue the case ! The show is making good point on how people are using religious believe to their own profit using other people who loose everything. they give them a good figure with thier "charisma" (or the play they do on stand) hiding behind what jesus seemed to say (even if we open the bible it will take 1 min to show them that Jesus will never approve what they are currently doing). I agree that these groups look like more a cult who don't thinl at all than someone religious who is studying and tryong to understand the world with his belief as help. you can be religious but still have common or critic sense. but those seemed to have choose to forget it (or where strip of it...). Demagogy (flattering people's belief and wish to control them) is a dangerous weapons. and "pillar" (like Katie call them) are very good at using it. In all case, America is full of those little religious group. America alone must have more different church than most of european country assemble. Not Tom and Jerry. the three little pigs. My understanding of the situation with the wife is : She doesnt know he cheating until the dance(only have doubt), she feeled him almost broken after his speech (genuilly lost in what to do with his life) and she still love him nonetheless... now, I'm not in couple. I couldn't answer Katie about "why men do that?". my only guess is "it become routine and it need work from both of them to not let it become routine". Now Hart is another kind of very "bad man". I'm not even sure he "love". now we can debate on what "Love" is what it represent for him... but it will be long and not sure we get a final conclusion. Just, in no way, his action are moraly acceptable (neither cheating nor lying, nor beating the guy and even acting lhypocrytical with "familly is the more important thing" ). OK Rust is no more pessimist. But Nihillistic (life has no meaning and everything is worthless). Even more worse than pessimist of you ask me. Does really miss a part of his finger ? you saw him missing a finger but 52 min all his finger are here.🤔 Strange detail, optical illusions or mistake in filming? I don't know, because even me think he was missing his finger. I guess we will see later. For the case itself (at this point), We don't have much. they just follow the trail of clue and people's intel plus what Rust found and links are made. But we have no mobile (except maybe Fanaticism in bloody religious belief). Except for following the trail we don't have much... we will see after if they found anything to say it's him (clue he was there, that he made it and mobile etc...). Anyway, very interresting show and looking at it with someone as interested as you is even better. Eager to see the rest. Have a beautifull day, Munchies !

Ville Platte Breaux Bridge Abbeville Vermillion St Martin Eunice Erath Such familiar names to me. It's still weird hearing it on HBO. I may have mentioned before there is a pretty large number of Vietnamese in Louisiana. Probably the second place state for Vietnamese settlement.

MrSlowFloww

Finally a new player for your videos, much better than the previous one.

Jef Etters

Not for me. I can’t stream this to my TV in fullscreen. 😞

Great reaction! Just in case y'all haven't finished the show yet I wanted to help with some abbreviations & info for future episodes or other police shows: "DBs": dead bodies "A & R": assault and robbery "Vic": victim "CIs": Confidential Informants = criminals who give information to police "KAs": Known Associates "PI": Private Investigator. That's what Marty Hart is working now, he's not a police man any more "UC" = Undercover, like Rust Cohle was for a few years. He only spent a short time in a mental institution, like a month or so. "10-4": message received "Andrew" = the hurricane which devastated many towns "Angola/The Farm" = a prison "B & E" = breaking and entering "R & I" = police department where all the records and information is kept, like photos etc. "SIDS" = Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Unexplained death of a seemingly healthy baby

This one can actually full screen on iPhone 🤯

Jef Etters

Not for me on iphone. I’m using the patreon app. Perhaps it will through a browser?

Fff

It's very funny how much they don't even try to understand Marty.

All things considered—aside from his cynical worldview and everything he’s been through—Rust actually seems to have his life together pretty well. I find it interesting that he has such a low opinion of religion, yet uses it masterfully during interrogations to break the person he’s questioning. Martin is deep in the throes of a midlife crisis. I hate to think how many men have destroyed good marriages or relationships just because they wanted to indulge the illusion of being young again. We’re going to learn a lot more about him, and I’m curious to see if he can redeem himself in the eyes of Chi and Katie. It certainly won’t be easy for him. That was a great reaction, ladies, as always.💜

tommy23

That was very cruel of Rust to interview that retarded boy that way. And his response was pretty shitty too, Didn't like that. And , BTW what do you guys have against religion? Keep on rockin

Auvern

Relax a little with the judgment towards Marty, here... Calling him a "Hypocrite" & so on. It's complicated.

Auvern

They're not religious, dude.

Manospondylus

In case you ladies didn't realize. Angola is a notorious prison in Louisiana.

Quick note: I know Chi said, “We don’t talk much during the reaction,” but honestly, I think that’s the right instinct for this kind of show. Not every silence needs to be filled, and not every question needs to be asked out loud while the scene is still answering it. Sometimes you’ve just gotta let the film cook. React naturally . . . emotionally, vocally, face-wise, whatever hits you . . . but let the show do most of the talking. Because this really isn’t a talk-over-the-show type of show. If you’re talking through too much of it, you end up missing gems like this Rust line: “If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of divine reward, then, brother, that person is a piece of shit.” 👨🏾‍🍳💋

tommy23

It certainly is to them. But maybe you know better.
