Hello Munchies !! OH YEAH !!!! One of my favourites franchise !!! Just hearing the music, get a whip, a gun, a hat and let's fo for the adventure !!!! There's no other character that scream " adventure in cinema" than Idiana Jones !!!! One of the most famous theme song of the cinema!! I saw Chi and Hella's react 3x times atleast!! (poor them 🤣) Let's go!! I'll try to answer some question Chi and Hella had in their first reaction if I can. Funny, in french, it is Indiana jones and the adventurer of the lost ark (yeah we don't "raid" it)🤣 Believe me, the movies were already famous way before they think of making games !!! 🤣🤣Indiana jones became the archetypes of the Archeologist/adventurer. all come from him. Tomb Raider in his original concept was a copycat of Indiana jones! It's famous that much !! Funny to think it was supoosed to be a spy movie first...🤣 For the Arks It's from the bible yes. The ark of the covenant was the symbol of the alliance between God( Yahwe/Jehovah) and the Hebrews (modern jewish). In the bibles, we don't have many intell. whe have a description of it (except maybe the size of it, the main point are accurate, mostly the 2 angels on it) and what's inside (the ten commandement, a little of manna (the food God gave to the hebrew in the desert) and the staff of Aaron the first highpriest). How it was build and so on. The ark was put in the temples (in the Holoiest place of it, where only the high priest could go once in a year) and after that, we lost it....the last time we speak of it is when a king of Judea, Josiah, restored the temple of God in Jerusalem and put the Ark back at his place (because they move it when they worshipped other gods....). We have no clue what happened to it....but it's clearly not Shishaq who took it. he appeared in the bible century before Josiahand the ark's disparition. (So no Tanis in the bible) For the rest, Nobody could touch it. Once King David wanted to move it on a chariot, it almost felt, a man touch it to avoid it, God killed him! (the arks is too sacred!) In fact, the only way to move it the way God wanted is excatly how the nazis does in the island ( covered and with stick) nobody could see it. not even the high priest. For the movie, Hitler want to use it for war...It wouldn't work!! Once the Hebrew took it on a battlefield to won a war, but God was angry at them. he allowed the defeat and the ark to be taken but he put so much misery on those who took the Ark, they had to return it ! (Yep hemorrhoid on nationale scale hurt!😅). So unless God want you to win, No matter if you have the ark or not. It's God who fight, not the ark. For the movie IRL, Hitler was never interested in paranormal. Other nazis high members did thou... Mainly Himler and Goebels. it's them who used the most the paranormal in their work and creating thier own "cult". But it's this movie who made famous the idea Hitler was interrested in too. Where, in fact, he despised it. But he couldn't stop them to do it... Do you recognize Sallah's actor, katie ? He's Gimli, the dwarf, in the lord of the ring 😅 (hard to believe right ?) "they look like terrorist" 😅 yeah, that's one thing that may have badly aged int the movie🤣 "You're kidding me? excuse me?" The most iconic and funny gun vs sword fight ever !!! 🤣 Funny thing, It was supposed to have a real fight. But Harrison Ford was sick (many were sick because of the local food. some indigestion). He didn't felt good enough to do a fight scene and he said "why If i'm just shooting him?" and so it is !! now, You know where Mac and Charlie got their discusion about sword/katana vs Guns!! 😅🤣 For me, it's one of the best scene of all the cinema. not meaningfull, but just so well done! Belloq is french. that's why his accent is "funny" 😅 "eat it and die !!" , "what a bloody scene" I was almost ready to bet you'll feel sorry for the monkey. I lost.🤣🤣 "Why is there shaking" God is listenning. Katie, Abner Ravenwood is dead. Marion is his daughter, Indy was his student. Belloq is someone else. Ah the music theme of the ark in the map-room....always so beautifull! Katie !!!??? "It's sand, not powder" 🤣🤣 "Where did they find the staff?" it's just a staff... they just needed one of the good heigh. any staff of the right eigh would work. I remenber very well how much Chi and Hella were traumatied by all the snakes !! 😅🤣 Poor them, but it was si funny to see too...sorry Chi and Hella...😅 If you wonder, yes they were real snakes. they put the actors inside a glass protection to avoid troubles when the snakes was right to his face. "I can smell it" 🤣 bon appétit !! In the room where the ark is, If you know where to look, you can see C3PO and R2D2 from star wars!! 😅😁 Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are good friends. they always make reference to each other. (in Indiana Jones 2 too, the 3 I never found it)that's also why we have Yoda in E.T. ! "I'm just speechless" the best joke of the movie !! When even the munchies are speechless, you know it's a very good one!! 🤣🤣🤣 "I love the music" one of the best theme of the cinema !! 😁 "If he's driving in Vietnam" 🤣🤣 Until you screamed, I never realized the fly ! 🤣 well, he was acting...I guess..😅 Belloq's clothing in the ark ceremony is the one of the jews high-priest. it May seems strange or ridiculous (I remeber you Chi😉), but each part has a symbolic meaning. But apparently, they had a cutscene where a oldman explain to Indy to respect the ark, So he know he had to close his eyes. too bad they removed it, it would have make more sense. For the "sand", after 6 000 years of course, everything in it has turn to ash. For the "angel's" screams, they used many sea's animals scream to do it. (like dolphins and seals) And so the ark is lost again...in a storage! For the conclusion Katie, the frecnh Indochina cessed to exist "officialy" in 1954. we are in 1936 in the movie. so yes, you are "french" back then. "A distinctive character" is an understatement. Just his look and we recognize him! his hat, his whip and a gun and the music and let's go !! But yeah, he's not a romantic. but you'll see, he's collecting woman as much as artifact!😅 And this is Ivy the bad friend??? 🤣🤣🤣 poor Ivy having to drink the cup without the tear! This movie "for me" is the pinneacle of "adventure movie". the benchmard value, the basic, the original template! For me, Nothing is "more adventure" than Indiana jones (even If I prefer the 3rd one. this one is THE one.) Thanks for the beautifull time! eager to see the rest! (in total 5 movie, but like POTC, only the 3 first are really good, the 4th is barely OK. the 5th I didn't saw it but I heard everyone making bad comments nobody protecting it, so ....It gave an idea, your choice munchies ). Have a beautifull day Munchies !!

Thomas Simmons

I never thought I'd need to see this movie again, it's certainly over 50 times by now. But, here I am watching it with Kate & Ivy! 😅 Great reaction ladies, almost like seeing it anew again through your eyes.

My favorite movie growing up. I was a 90s kid, and I watched this movie once a week. I forced my mom to buy me a fedora and leather coat for Halloween.

Nhia Vang

The Temple of Doom will always be my favorite because of Ke Huy Quan.

Never noticed how much Bradley Cooper looks like Rene Beloq. Great reaction.

On behalf of Gen X. Thank you for watching our favorite movie.

The scene where Indiana Jones shoots the big guy with the sword wasn't originally in the script, but it is one of the most famous scenes in movie history... A large number of the cast and crew were sick during the filming of that scene. Something like 150 cast and crew had a stomach bug and dysentery. Everyone was hot, tired, and seriously sick. All of that sweat you see on Indiana's shirt was because Harrison Ford was really sick. The original script wanted Indiana to snatch the sword with his whip, but Harrison Ford asked Steven Spielberg why Indiana doesn't "just shoot the bastard"? Harrison Ford was not feeling well enough to do the scene like the script described. Steven Spielberg, the director, said go for it. And that is how one of the most memorable scenes in movie history was made. LOL. Steven Spielberg was one of the few people that didn't get sick. Everyone else was eating the local food and drinking the local water. Steven Spielberg had a stash of canned food and water from the US. Steven Spielberg was basically eating only "Spaghetti-Os" and imported water and it prevented him from getting sick!

Movie Munchies

Thank you for being excited for the reaction and for watching with us! 😊

Movie Munchies

We’re happy to spoil you a little! 😆❤️

Maybe you can understand Chi and Hella better. This is the reaction that made them say no to snakes. This and the second one.

Temple of Doom > Raiders of the Lost Ark /Hail Hydra 🐉

The first three Indiana Jones movies are arguably the best adventure films out there. Raiders of the Lost Ark is clearly a classic, but I feel Indiana Jones really comes into his own as a character in Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade. Alongside Han Solo from Star Wars, Indiana Jones is undoubtedly Harrison Ford's most famous role. By the way Katie, you might recognize John Rhys-Davies, the actor who plays Indy's friend Sallah, from The Lord of the Rings; he plays the dwarf Gimli and also voices the Ent Treebeard. The 80s and 90s are particularly well-known for the Lucasfilm Games point-and-click Indiana Jones adventures, although I have no idea how playable they still are today. If you’re interested in Indiana Jones video games, I can recommend Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which was released a couple of years ago for PC and consoles. It's a great game with impressive graphics that really captures the Indiana Jones atmosphere. As always, that was a great reaction ladies.💜

Who else grows up with "Indiana Jones and the emperor's tomb?" 😁 It's happening right before the temple of Doom and he's looking for the tomb of the first Chinese emperor! 😄

The Ark of the Covenant is supposedly in Ethiopia in a Small building or Hut and is guarded by a group of Religious Zealots. They won,t Allow access to it .

Johnny S.

The scene where the Man in Black with the Sword was impromptu,Harrison Ford was Sick at the time and Said why don't I just Shoot him?The actor practiced with the Sword for months so he could fight in the Scene.

Vietnam was colonized by the French,Basically for Rubber production prior to WW2 they were defeated in 1956,thus ending their Colonzing.

There were definitely Indiana Jones games, but no... none of them were bigger than the movies. Indiana Jones was a movie franchise first. The movies were what made Indiana Jones huge, and the games came because he was already popular. There were a few games, and apparently some were actually good, so I won't say they all sucked. But movie-to-game adaptations were pretty rough back then... hell even now they don't really get them right.😌

Great reaction as always
