Yay! I was so hoping you would watch hellraiser 2 aswell! I think the rest of the franchise is fun but you have watched the 2 greatest of the lot! If you didn't want to watch all the Hellraiser movies, I would still recommend watching the newest 2022 movie, especially if you want to see a female pinhead! Look forward to this watch! Thanks!

I am a huge Hellraiser fan. And by that i mean the first film. The sequels, not so much. It's like no one understood what made the first movie so great, and more and more they tried to squeeze Barker's creation into a mainstream straight jacket. I can imagine so many amazing stories as the puzzle boxes fall into different hands. My second favourite Hellraiser story is The Canons of Pain, the first one published in the Hellraiser comic book issue 1. An absolutely amazing Hellraiser story where the puzzle box shows up during the crusades. https://batcave.biz/reader/11744/122842#page-6 Hellraiser 2 is not as focused and coherent as the original Hellraiser. I really, really like the discovery of multiple puzzle boxes, but i loathe the reveal that the cenobites used to be human. It sucked all the mystery, grandeur and awe from those creatures. Hellraiser 2 is fine. It's way, way better than any of the other sequels, but it's also way worse than the first film.

I like this one better than the first, which isn't saying a lot - fun reaction though thanks! I'd recommend Exorcist 3 for a horror movie that doesn't rely on gore but is very, very scary. Don't watch Exorcist 2 though, considered by many to be one of the worst movies ever made.

Hello Munchies !! call it "morbid curiosity"..... or just wanting to see Hella and katie's funny lines and reaction, I don't know myself 😂. But I'm ready to try this one too !! I know I said it was not for me. and I maintain it , but that's why I spoke about "morbid curiosity"... How the movie did change? Did they keep the formula, change it a little ? or just right away do the same scenario ? I'm a little curious still. even If may close my eyes again sometimes...😂 so let's see that! and counting on hella and Katie to save my psychee !! 😉🤣 For the movie "jesus despise you" 😅 Katie was right on the spot for that one !! she didn't missed her chance ! "this movie is kinda inspired by the christian religion" I agree. between all the statue of saints and jesus in the first one, the lust and hedonism as a major sin. don't help him Katie !! you will doom him ! 😅 oh he was pinhead before his "ascension"...I have Berserk's and warhammer's flacback... Ouch, are they really making an open brain operation with the guy still awake?? Not sure it is legal !! but maybe yes back then. or in this universe. I think Kyle is telling she's telling the truth to calm her. how a doctor, a scientist can belive her right away like that? I think he's just more empathic and trying the "friendly approach" with her than the others who just see her as "insane". "I was kidding girl" (about tasting the "blood" )🤣 well thanks for the flashback to the movie...atleast, if we missed something, now we understand all the first movie easy ! Waith there's more than one box? they are berserk's behelit in fact... that's it. thank for bringing the trauma back ! if you don't know, don't look for it! But I agree with you. the doctor must be a cultist of sort. If Julia and Frank were in "Lust" this doctor must be "looking for forbidden knowledge". my best guest. "I refuses to look at" me too... "how they come up with that idea?" I'm wondering the same question and sometimes i'm very scared of the answer... "not the carpet! Not the wall !!" well, the cleaningof the house may cost a lot ! 🤣 and now she look like a mummy ! "doctor are you that lonely??!!" So it seems !! Beurk !!! "the doctor need an examination" it's often like that in movies, but here we have an award to gave in the "psychotic" category !!! 🤣 "come to mother" that's what we call a missed oppurtinity 😅 but damn Kyle was easy to get.... Ok, so now everyone is in hell and everyone is facing their deamons. But Julia...is hse became a cenobyte herself? the one longing for lust.... "where's our room ?" 🤣 not here !! on earth !! please...😅 Well I didn't expect Julia to betray Frank like that. tricking him, yes. but not k"illing" him. "we have a brain smoothy!" 🤣 seriously, who imagined the concept art of this cenobyte doctor?! "it longer to us to put a dress" 🤣🤣 no comment ...if I want to survive! 😅 For the conclusion Well it was as digusting as the last time. hard to know which one was worse. but it was more diversified. as you said . I think you explain most of the point of it : not only lust, but "craving forbiden knowledge", facing the past etc... And yes, Pinhead and the cenobytes seem to die too easily. Well, i have the same dilemma as the last one. way too gore for me ,( thanks less "lusty") and as Hella said "hard to watch" ! clearly. again thanks to the munchies for being a lifebuoy in the movie! 😅 thanks for the discovery nonetheless. This one was ok as well. I really like it. The PREMISE of this franchise and the lore (comics, novels, novellas) created after the first film were always better than the actual films. There's 10 sequels which include a recent reboot film. Truthfully, the quality goes down as you move forward. The "original" Pinhead in the 1986 novella was Gender-ambiguous. The 2022 Hellraiser reboot had a transgender (female) actress portray Pinhead and is among the best entries in the franchise. You two CAN continue watching all the films, but IMO, these two films you've watched and the 2022 reboot are the best in the franchise. I just don't want you gals to think you've wasted your time (or ours) as you get to several really not good sequels. The quality of the franchise was not consistent. Unfortunately.

I think you're confusing The Last Jedi (second best SW movie of all time) with The Rise of Skywalker (I'd rather watch the Holiday Special on repeat than sit through that one again). 😋

i seen most of them and sadly...most are terrible. The first 2 were good enough; the third was ...ok...after that, downhill.....there was one that was ok as a movie, but it wasn't Hellraiser....it was some random horror labelled Hellraiser...the franchise ultimately lost its character and identity

The 2022 version was ok. For me, it lacked in imagination and had a pretty weak story. But imagine a Black Mirror-esque Hellraiser anthology show. Talented writers given complete creative freedom to take puzzle boxes and cenobites anywhere.
