It was stated in season 1 that there is no sorcerer that can do black flash at will, it only happens at the maximum of focus possible, when cursed energy hits exactly at the moment it needs to hit after the physical hit happens! But it is normal to don't remember that because that was a lot of episodes ago lol

that being said, landing a black flash, even if by pure luck, makes the sorcerer enter an ultra focused mode, where it is easier to chain other black-flashes!

but by doing it in any way, being it luck or not, makes the sorcerer/curse understand cursed energy in a totally different way (when this was being stated in season 1, the anime showed images of Gojo and Nanami as examples of this status)

another thing that the anime made it really more confusing than it should be, is that the ultimate form mahito cant tweak his soul to change its appearance thats why he stopped using the armor at the face and shoulder near the end of the fight, to tweak its appearance in order to dodge Yuji's attack

Black flash is extremely powerful and is considered to be one of the strongest techniques in the verse. It was explained that it takes the power of your hit and raises it to the power of 2.5. For example, lets say Yuji's hit is a 100, enough to punch through concrete, if it turns into a black flash it goes from 100 to 100,000. It's a thousand times more powerful now. In addition, the user of the black flash enters a state in which they go beyond their normal potential. Making them fight better, and hence increasing their likelihood of landing a subsequent black flash. So not only does black flash increases your power tremendously, but it raises you in almost every aspect as a fighter. You can see now why black flash turns the tables in a fight and can snow ball someone like Yuji who usually wouldn't stand a chance against a special grade into an absolute power house. This is why Black flash is mostly luck based at first, if people could do it at will they would be pretty broken.

Fire episode! Btw at the end Todo doesn't actually swap Mahito, he fakes Mahito out into believing that he would swap him so that he is prepared for a swap instead of Yuji coming at him. Todo says himself "My Boogie Woogie is dead". Also Sukuna lets Mahito off the hook this time around because he was willing to risk it all and try a something new (.2 sec domain) to achieve victory. You can see that Sukuna has gained a level of respect for him becomes when they interact this time they are standing on level ground which means Sukuna came down from his throne to see Mahito on even ground. Yeah of course it’s a lot of stuff to handle and focus on all at once. That’s one of the reasons I love this show too. There’s always so much going on and my adrenaline is constantly pumping but because of the craziness I sometimes miss things. That’s why I love rewatching it, I pay attention to different details every time and I always manage to catch something new I didn’t see previously :)

The hunter became the hunted. The representation of the rabbits and the wolves was so beautiful. I really love how they depict that scene with the winter/woods part. Mahito was always gonna beat Yuji until Yuji realised that they both are exactly the same but on the opposite end. Mahito kills for no reason, just as Yuji saves for no reason. As soon as Yuji realised his role in society and in nature, it was game over for Mahito
