Hey y’all!

I was pretty surprised to see that there were a few of you who might be interested in just the writing and stuff in general, so I decided I’d post this one over here for now.

There is another story coming at some point (I can’t say when), but here we go.

This is my first short story!

Description:

When Taka wakes up one morning, he can’t understand why his wife Rin is upset. She won’t answer him. Rather, she can’t. This short story follows Taka, Rin, and a black cat. What ties them together?

——

Thanks in advance to those who give it a read, and I’d love to hear your thoughts (if ever) in the comments below!

You did it hehe <3 I loved the idea and the way you molded it into a short story - kind of like capturing a moment, which also reminds me of you doing photography, so that kind of makes sense - and I digress haha. It's well written, especially for the first story- the more you write the more polished your style will be, so I'm looking forward to seeing your writing evolve as well.

This was a nice, warm story. I'm glad to finally be able to read something from you. I enjoy your style, which is easy to digest and take in. With more writing, you will grow and explore more about yourself as a writer. Spoiler for those that didn’t read the story ahead! The idea of people coming back in animal form has been something I’ve kinda believed in. A few weeks after my dad passed away, a young fox He showed up in front of our house and sat and watched us for a good while. He did this for a solid week before his last night, when he called out and walked away. We never saw him again. We took it as our dad saying goodbye to us one last time. A story like this always touches me. I’m happy this was your first that I hope 🤞🏼of many more to come.

Man, I'm really grateful that you read it, and even more so that you enjoyed it. Thank you! That last line of yours was a piece of encouragement I think I really needed. After I posted this, I actually started to second-guess whether anyone would understand it or if it would be too 'amateur' for anyone to want to read. To think that you're looking forward to potentially reading more in the future lit me up haha. Seriously man, that's awesome. I definitely agree on the writing also! I think the more I can encourage myself to write and read regularly, the easier it'll be for sure. I'm really looking forward to that. And man, your own thoughts touched me! I'm so happy to hear that part resonated with you, because it totally does for me as well. It's a bit of an abstract thing to explain to some people and also kind of a weird topic to just randomly bring up, so I thought a story could explore the idea a little easier. I also kind of feel the same way about animals and people. I've always felt like no one is ever truly gone, and sometimes we see them around us in ways that we'd never expect. Foxes are also so symbolic. That's amazing man.

We did it! 🥹❤️ Man that makes me so happy! Thank you! And yeah I totally get what you mean haha. I think cinematic writing or at least with the 'scene' in mind is kind of the default, and you're right, it's probably because of photography haha. I really appreciate and am super grateful that you read this, Sunny! I can't wait to write more and read more to communicate the stuff that I want to! Like I said earlier too to Justin, the fact you're even looking forward to continuing to read some of the stuff I write lights me up. It means a great deal!

RisingSunbebe

I totally get the cinematic writing (which shouldn't be surprising XD), I wrote a couple of these super short stories with that kind of feel in mind back when I was writing - called them something similar to impressions really. Yes, share more, we're here!

LKTV (Lok)

Absolutely will Sunny! And yes! Awesome to hear you were writing at some point too! Cinematic stuff can be so fun and immersive but it's so easy to get carried away haha. But getting the atmosphere just right and 'living in it' so to speak is really fun!

RisingSunbebe

Indeed! Getting carried away is fun too hehe

!Spoilers for anyone who hasn't read yet Nice little read! I like how you used the senses to hint at the latter reveal without giving away too much. You fit in a suprising amount of foreshadowing for a short story lmao. Also, a nice little misdirect with the pneumonia 👍 I did have to google what a Lorikeet was though cause that confused me. I thought it was a pets name or something so I thought I skipped a paragraph and missed important info hahahaha I will be side-eyeing my cats every time they yell at me now though

LKTV (Lok)

Thanks so much for reading man! It means a lot ❤️ Glad you like the use of senses! I really wanted to see what it would be like to write an 'atmosphere' that could be easy to feel, and glad you thought so on the foreshadowing too! I just didn't want to give too much away hahaha. Also damn! I didn't know that Lorikeets weren't all around the world? They're LOUD man like really beautiful to look at but good lord they can be so obnoxious hahaha. Side eye the animals always! Who knows what they're up to...🤨

I enjoyed the story, it was very visual if that makes any sense. It may be that I see what I read I'm worse with audio books I actually sit to listen like I'm watching a movie. Keep doing these very cool.

Thanks so much September! Yeah I totally get what you mean! I think I try to translate the scene in my head as closely as I can, and I'm really glad to hear you not only enjoyed it but were able to see what I was putting out there! I will continue for sure! Means the world! ❤️
