We have finally reached the end. I haven't rewatched this in a while, so I've forgotten how bittersweet the farewell between Gon and Killua was. This was actually the first time Gon referred to Killua as "Nakama" instead of "Tomodachi," and the whole scene is so sad because Gon is clearly guilty about how he treated Killua during the Chimera Ant arc, and he feels that their relationship is strained but doing that he unknowingly plays into Killua's insecurity about their relationship and where they stand for basically the whole series (especially during the palace invasion) I could write so much about the nuance in this scene but ill stop before this turns into some essay out of nowhere lmao. Also, yes these episodes are in the manga but its actually does not end on the last chapter of the volume but the one before last instead probably because the last chapter introduces a new character and heavily sets up the following arc which is probably the reason no anime episodes have been made since said arc is still ongoing and the end is not really in sight either.

Thanks for the reaction, it was a good time! My 3rd re-watch overall now. There's about 71 chapters post the anime finishing but it's all really the same arc and doesn't have an end in sight. Probably a long way off it finishing unless we ever go past the 10 chapters/year which has been the best case scenario for awhile now.

Did I watch 80 episodes of Hunter x Hunter in a week? Don't worry about it. Sad I couldn't comment on more uploads as they came out, but I'm notoriously bad about watching TV or reactions in real time, haha. I really appreciated your insights and I'm so glad you enjoyed!
