Welcome to cliffs in C-Dramas lol, falling off a cliff CAN kill charas but I'd say def less than 50% of the stories XD and e.g. scriptwriters/directors also use this to get bromance or censored queer stories aired, cause CN gov is sadly very much still in the censorship & 'kill your queers'-phase. so there are some cases of cliff-jumps in bromance & queer stories to get them aired, while C-Drama fans know it means the chara possibly survived and can reunite off-screen with their partner ^^
