The core mission of ModForge has always been clear: make Horizon Forbidden West modding through Vortex seamless, visually appealing, and effortless. With version 0.0.3, we’re taking several important steps closer to that vision.

Before diving into the new features, let’s quickly revisit how mod downloading and installation works with the ModForge Vortex extension (see video).

🚀 What will be available in new version?

• Dedicated Control PanelA brand-new panel with Quick and Advanced packing controls, plus a gallery of enabled mods for easy management.

• One-Click Packing from NotificationsMods can now be packed directly from the notification box—streamlining the workflow even further.

• Automated Save File SupportFull save file mods support with automatic backups and a separate page for better organization.

• Custom Save File NamesRename your in-game save files to keep track of different playthroughs or mod setups.

• Enhanced ModForge Manager DesignEnhanced interface with the option to personalize your window background, making the manager feel truly yours.

When will this new version be available?

You may ask: hey, why are you keeping this treasure not yet released?

Well, the reason is that I had a not very pleasant precedent happen with one Nexusmods user (extensions developer) who tried to discredit my work and exploit ModForge for his own benefit by stealing my assets and adding them to his own extension here.

The obvious reason for his actions seems to be that he already created an extension for HFW some time ago and, for whatever reason, believes that only he should be allowed to make extensions for games on Nexus Mods.

Taking all this into account, I spent the last week trying to bring this matter to the Nexusmods administration and at the same time developing my own protection methods for ModForge assets, to stop that disrespectful person from using them in the future. Currently I am waiting for a response from the Nexusmods administration, at least to ensure that the issue is documented. But I want to assure you: regardless of the decision from Nexusmods, this new 0.0.3 version will be posted on this week anyway.

How can you help speed things up?

If you are a Vortex user and considering using—or already using—my ModForge extension for HFW, please install the currently available version 0.0.2 from Nexusmods (download), test its current functions, and write your fair review in the comments section. Even a few words will help to bring attention to this project.

Dear Gamerlands members,

I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and deeply appreciate your understanding. As always, I extend my heartfelt thanks for your continued support—without it, the Horizon modding universe would not be nearly as vibrant and beautiful as it is today.
