We all love creating mods that make Aloy look more beautiful, or add new outfits and features—but behind the scenes, the reality of my work has been very different lately.

This month has been especially difficult here in Ukraine. Power supply is unstable—on a good day, I get a quarter of the day with electricity from the city. The rest of the time I work from my laptop, carefully rationing an emergency battery pack while air raid sirens interrupt daily life. These conditions continue, and that’s why releases have been fewer.

But I don’t want you to feel sad or disappointed reading this. Instead, let’s concentrate on the good things—on the creativity we share, and on modding our favorite Horizon games together. You may ask, then, why I write this if I don’t want to make you sad. The reason is simple: I just want to be true with you. War never changes, unfortunately, and honesty matters.

Despite everything, I’ve kept going, and very message, every subscription, every bit of support from this community has meant more than I can put into words. You’ve helped me hold onto something hopeful and inspiring in the middle of chaos.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with me. Your encouragement is a light that cuts through the dark, and together we’ll keep building new experiences in Horizon that make every playthrough feel fresh and exciting.

Hi Gamerlands. I just wanted to reach out and let you know your mods helped me have the best possible HZD experience. I finished the game months ago but I still follow you and check every update you post. You were also in a talented team that managed to make HFW moddable and even published a tool to manage those mods. All this achieved under very challenging conditions in your home country. That is amazing. I hope peace comes sooner, so you can pursue what you want and sometimes share more mods with us. Take care!

Hey JD, speaking as someone who fell in love with Aloy (a little too literally for my own sanity, maybe!) back on my many play-throughs on the PS4, and PS5, and we are talking maybe 6-7000 hours or more, what you have given me (and many others) now with Horizon modding on PC is truly uplifting and brings oodles of positivity to us folk that are lucky enough not to be in a war-torn country. So far on my current play-through of Zero dawn at 726 hours, I am deliberately dragging out time between mission goals, just for the sheer enjoyment that your mods bring. those being (amongst others) the Outcast Rework v1.2, the Diamond edition of the Nora Brave, and the Silent Hunter Master Deluxe Rework v1.1 , for obvious NSFW reasons :-) To think that you are managing the output that you are able to, under the duress of air raids is truly humbling. I am far from sad, thanks to the wonderful world of Horizon, and the enhancements that your mods bring..... I am just sad for the plight of your country, and I pray that one day peace will arrive so that you can carry on the good work un-hindered, and god only knows what your fertile imagination could come up with, while we all wait for Horizon 3 Stay safe, respect, and longevity to you my 'ansum from Planet Cornwall, UK
