I always get emotional watching the Wildflower MV, but the thing I love about the song is that the lyrics in the intro are sung like a question, almost unsure, whereas the exact same lyrics in the outro are sung like a confident statement.

Your conclusion of the album are very assertive and respectful. I think all of your points of view are what every Army listening the album for the first time, once thought about. Yes, it was a bit of a cry for help, a look a back on his twenties, a story about his experience and something he wanted to leave in the past and move on. I hope you take into consideration watching the MINIMONI exchange, it really puts into perspective in what state of mind RM was 2021-2024.

Indigo is an incredible album! The production on this is so good and the fact that he got so many amazing artists as well to collaborate with an amazing artist such as himself just elevates this album even more for me

This album is so poetic as well, he describes as the 'last archive of his 20s'. 'Indigo' is a natural plant-based dye most commonly associated with blue jeans. RM liked the organic, earthy feel of the color, viewing it as raw and foundational rather than overly processed or artificial. In the Suchwita interview with Suga, he described it as wanting it to be a natural transition between his previous album, 'Mono' (black and white) to now. If you mix black and a blue together, then you get a 'natural' colour or indigo. I think watching the 'Indigo' Album Magazine film is a good way to get more context for this album as well! Thanks so much :))

You guys should also check out RM’s playlist/mixtape Mono. It’s very introspective and really showcases his growth and maturity, both as an artist and as an individual. I feel like this was a really important part of his journey of self-discovery. He also changed his name from Rap Monster to “Real Me” while working on this mixtape. I think It’s rare to come across an artist who’s willing to be this honest, authentic, and vulnerable through their music. I’m also always surprised by how mature and self-reflective RM was at such a young age. I think he was only 23 or 24 when mono was released. I also found an album analysis by a channel called Wandering Thoughts. She goes through each song and its lyrics in a lot of detail and explains them really beautifully. Her interpretations and explanations fill in a lot of the gaps I had when I first listened to Mono and gave me a much deeper understanding of the album. if you’re left wanting to know more after listening to mono like I was, I’d really recommend giving her analysis a watch. Can't recall if you guys have ever heard Change before. You got to hear Change pt. 2 on this album obvi, but consider checking out the lyrics and MV from the original track if you haven't already It was a major accomplishment for Joon at the time to collaborate with Wale, plus at the time there were a lot of social issues going on in the world so it's always been a really poignant track (on top of just sounding really good lol)

One of my favortie albums. Highlights after Wildflower and Closer is Change Pt2 where they went super experimental and Lonely that he wrote in Las Vegas during their concerts there. BTW Charlie at the end was spot on. They process everything through music, that's their therapy. That's why their music is so relatable is rooted in their emotions and human experience.

a little behind the scenes on Change pt.2 : rm got very drunk, went to eAeon's house, and recorded the vocals in just 3 min with no beat and a cheap mic. and eAeon built the instrumental around those vocals not the other way around. When rm later tried to re-record it properly, it lost the raw magic—so they kept the original drunk demo on the album. About the meaning i think Charlie and seb are both right. It’s about the impermanence of things, the people around him, change within himself notably. but there are lyrics with a distinct romantic color, and he did say the order of the songs was carefully arranged so this song coming just after Closer is not a coincidence. It’s important we do not speculate about the details of their personal lives, but i don’t think that means we have to ignore the pretty obvious romantic implication of some of his lyrics. it’s pretty clear with this album and the next (the song Nuts comes to mind) he was dealing with the downfall of a relationship. anyway, great review guys as always ☺️☺️

I think the lyrics "I don't care much for being tossed in the air, grounded on my own two feet amongst the flowers without names" kind of explains the meaning of the wordplay between firework and flowerwork- choosing to stay grounded instead of getting lost in fame. the boys have talked about namjoon going through some kind of almost depressive episode where he went through a lot during his solo eras and i suspect it was a break up, ESPECIALLY considering his lyrics in RPWP, they're completely gut wrenching. i think his trust and sense of self was completely disrupted, and some of his more explict lyrics about the situation feel so deeply sad. namjoons albums have always been very personal, and while he doesnt post too much about his personal life, he always channels it into his lyrics. also, yall have to react to his first two mixtapes, from 2015 and 2018 - the rappers had mixtapes before they dropped actual albums!

All Day is one of my top 3 songs in the album. The song addresses the search for one's own originality and identity in a world of algorithms and social pressueres. Tablo has a high IQ too is Namjoon's and Yoongi's Role Model; for him and Epik High the became musicians. At the end of the song Namjoon pays tribute to a Song of epik high "FLY"
