Guiding Harry chat
So, I plan to try and work on the October chapter of Guiding Harry sometime this week. Initially, I was thinking this chapter would be some sort of Valentine’s Day date between Harry and Fleur, probably inside of Hogwarts since we just did Hogsmeade last chapter. But I wasn’t sure if that might feel kind of same-y immediately after the Hogsmeade date (though this chapter would feature some smut, unlike the last one.)
I also thought some people might prefer to see us jump ahead and get closer to the Second Task. I figure there will be at least one chapter before that, with the Delacours arriving at Hogwarts and meeting Harry. Would you want to jump to that, or should we spend a chapter with some more Harry/Fleur fluff and smut first? I welcome any feedback on this topic.
Maybe a bit of both, jump forward but also kinda do a ‘flashback’ while waiting for the task to begin or something as a way to keep it from feeling same-y?
I’d say that Harry and Fleur deserve some more fluff and smut before what I’ve always considered the most potentially emotionally traumatic task.
Fluff first before meeting the parents and the mess that is the second task.
Fleur deserves a bit of fun before she has to deal with the lake.
Quick update here: I was putting the finishing touches on this months chapter when my rug suddenly squelched beneath my feet. Yay, sudden flooding! Dealing with that takes precedence right now, obviously, but once things have hopefully calmed down I’ll get back to finishing the chapter off and getting it ready for posting.

That’s understandable. Hopefully it’s not a huge repair.
It wasn’t too bad, thankfully. Nothing compared to the flooding I had to deal with a couple of years ago. Back to writing today.
I want to note that I’m still going to do a Guiding Harry chapter this month, but it’s probably going to be after the first poll fic this time. I didn’t have time to do it last week, and with the poll ending Thursday, I figure I’ll work on commissions for the first half of this week before starting on the winner. My current plan is to work on the Guiding Harry chapter next week.
I mentioned this on Discord, but realized I should post it here as well since not everybody’s on the Discord server. I finished writing this month’s Guiding Harry chapter yesterday, and will give it a readthrough on Tuesday to look for any additions or revisions I think are necessary before posting. I’ll get it posted either on Tuesday, or Wednesday (Merry Christmas?)
I wrote the first half of this month’s chapter yesterday, but wasn’t really feeling my idea for the second half. I’m going to pause and work on other stuff for now while I think about what I want to do in the second half.
I guess I can also open up to suggestions from you guys. Any fun and/or romantic things you’d like to see Harry and Fleur do together during the second half of a trip to Hogsmeade? (Specifically, returning after meeting Sirius in the cave)
what about Harry taking her somewhere they can see the whole of Hogsmeade from above?
How about Fleur convincing him to use the Floor in The Three Broomsticks to travel to Diagon or something for an adventure?
Those are both good. Ultimately I wound up using the second half of the chapter to move past the Hogsmeade trip and give a glimpse of Harry and Fleur training together for the tournament, with a lemon included as well.
On that note, I pulled a late night to tackle this month’s chapter. Took some rewriting, but finally got the second half going in a direction I liked and was able to finish writing it. Will get it edited and posted early next week.
I’ve started working on the next chapter of this today, so l should finally have something new up for Guiding Harry before the end of the month.
