'You decide to exit the duct.  At the same moment the being enters your hall from the hall you were in last.  The door beside you is in fact locked, so you try to run past the being before it cuts you off.

It was too late however, it manages to scoop you up and capture you whole.  Everything around you begins to cover your body, quickly converting you.  You are soon rereleased in their likeness.'

If it is any consolation, Toast, I also voted to avoid the duct, although I thought that section was particularly difficult as both options seemed to have merit prior to knowing what was around the corner. It seems speed should have carried more weight. (I think I made an accidental pun there.)

Oof. Seeing Jingle "bite-it" hurts. (Almost as much as that pun.) After-Action-Analysis (AAA) time: While I think the arguments for both options had merit, it seems maintaining our speed/mobility advantage should have been more of a factor in Decision #53. That said, it was a tough call. Speed vs caution/stealth. I still have dark visions of Jingle running headlong into a 3rd Sentinel. (If anyone has any better ideas as to what should have clued us in to going straight, please voice them.) That said, although I voted against it, I did not expect going into the duct to slow us down as much as it did. Either that, or these Sentinels managed to speed up. Based on estimated map positions, in the time it took us to enter and traverse the duct, observe the empty hall, and exit the duct, one of the sentinels managed to move 5-8 squares, depending on which one intercepted us. We moved roughly 3-4 squares worth in that time. It seems crawling through the duct was slower than walking speed, or just not done in enough of a hurry.

One of my biggest concerns is how much we did NOT learn from this death. 1. Which Sentinel got us? Can they merge or does one have to wait for the other "train" to pass? 2. At what distance can the Sentinels bite us? 3. How long are the Sentinels? If we had turned back, would we have seen the body or tail of a Sentinel blocking the exit? Or is the duct too small to 180 and thus would we have backed into the body of a Sentinel as we tried to exit the duct feet first? 4. Would we have gotten grabbed while still in the duct or after exiting it? 5. Why does the collective like high heels so much? 6. Can the Power of Jingle-Chaos Love (JCL) overwhelm the collective, changing it forever? 7. Would we get Boogie Magical Girls (tm)? So many questions. So little sleep. So little sanity left!

this feels like we lacked tile movement info. since we didn't really establish that walking pace meant one tile to your one. well we know that info now on how fast these move. still feels kinda bad that we have to establish that via a game over though. so by looking back at it this means they were roughly 2-3 tiles behind us and that their walking pace potentially equals our running speed. well size is a factor too. maybe we probably should keep that in mind for future choices. i think the decision was influenced pretty bad by us running in circles for 3 or 4 choices last time too. so people must have assumed we'd be running in circles here again too.

Oh come on, Jingle, you should have infinite lives for your Rhymes. Dunno about the second couplet either, but it's a nice exercise for me! "Oh my goodness, I guess that's it Getting swallowed, by this big git Shouldn't have paused, and taken a think If I may ask, can I be pink?" "That was such a stressful week I was such a pain to seek" Lost all her charm in conversion too, design wise. The heart-shaped pasties too beg a question.

I am not sure that is correct. I believe the description of them moving at "walking" speed was appropriate in relation to our speed and probably did not change. However, when we entered the duct our speed likely slowed dramatically. You could say it dropped to a crawl. [dives for cover]

I would hope one would realize one can not crawl in a cramped space as fast as one walks in an open space.

tis why my last thought was people figured we'd end up in a loop for a week again. crawling takes longer than walking after all...space permitting. even then, its not like it was THAT FAR behind us. just voicing thoughts aloud, don't mind me. Also i see what you did there Taerjaga.
