HUGE NEWS (and status update) (Patreon)
Content
First of all, a warm welcome to Allison and Lovisa. Thank you very much for your support. Feel free to introduce yourselves if you'd like! :-)
Second, the biggest piece of writer-related news, I’ve ever been in the position to deliver:
*takes a huge breath* I’ve quit my job. A long list of necessary preparations have panned out and the wife and I were able to pay out the mortgage on our house. Starting February 01 next year, I’ll be able to dedicate my time entirely to writing and we’ll see if this thing implodes, leaving me disillusioned and pennyless (ok, I’ll turn down the drama dial a bit) or if it’ll actually work out in the long run. Fingers crossed! :-D
That’s going to change a number of things to the better. Obviously, I’ll be able to write more. These days, I only have spare time from when the kids are tucked in until I fall asleep. That leaves only a couple of hours in the day – which I also need to use for anything else that needs doing. Like making posts for you guys. Status updates, new chapters, posts on writing :-)
Until now, I’ve spent so little time on keeping you guys in the loop that I feel pretty bad about it. However, once we hit February, that’s going to change to weekly updates – sometimes more if there’s something pressing. Once we get the ball rolling, I look forward to feedback on what you’d like more of, less of and so on. The next two months are still going to be business as usual with me strapped for time – and then the fun starts! :D
If you have any ideas or requests, shoot! I really look forward to it and I’m open to most things. Except singing. Looking at you, Nightwolf. Sternly! :P
Status update:
Audiobook on The Fallen Bard is entering the final state – still a ways to go, but it's looking good. 2 of 3 narrators are done with their part. Right now, Soundbooth Theater are looking into copyright on songs before they can go in the studio and record the violin – but from what they’ve told me, it should be ready January 2020.
Work on The Chronicler Bard (working title – book 3) is ongoing. Progress is slow, but constant. About 30K done now. Aiming for a March/April release (but after that, things should REALLY pick up in speed – initially aiming for 3-4 books a year.) I should be ready to start uploading chapters here soon.
About 30K done on another project that’ll probably see the light after The Chronicler Bard. (subject to change) This is going to be something entirely new and I look forward to airing what it’s about at a later date. :-)
Whew. That was more than usual. I'm pretty damn nervous about the whole thing, but it FEELS good. Finally going to have a job that I truly care about! Thank you all so very much for supporting me on the journey! <3
