Pokémon Pokopia Is Ruining My Life

Marty's latest video essay on Pokémon Pokopia. What started off as a cute spinoff of the world’s biggest media franchise suddenly coalesced into something more than just a cozy life sim, creative outlet, or fun sandbox to zone out in. It slowly dawned on him that Pokémon Pokopia is a legitimate Game of the Year contender and something that has taken over his life in the best possible way. I'm trying to play Monster Hunter Stories 3 and this. Each one sucks me in for hours on end. I really need to win the lottery so I can play them full time.

Great video Marty!

That’s the dream!

Another Patreon notification where I can tell Marty wrote it before even opening the app. A testament to both how independent media allows individual writers' voices to stand out amongst each other's, and to just how severe Marty's Pokopia addiction has become.

I really enjoy when I can tell it's a Marty video just from the title. Great work Mr. Silivila!

I always lose so hard at any multiplayer RTS game because I spend too much time feng shui-ing my base when I should be raising armies. Give me the option to build stuff in a game and I will agonize over the aesthetics, no matter how trivial.

Diamond and pearly gates was a particularly good goof

From the tone and delivery of this essay, I feel like the word 'Ruining' could be replaced with 'fundamentally improving'. Great work as ever Marty

Really loved the visual gag of searching through trash cans in Crow Country while talking about the current state of the internet. Also, I feel you as far as not being super creative. Took me a while to try to make something more "fancy" in Subnautica, but damnit, I tried!
