Painting metallic parts (Patreon)

🇬🇧 Sharing a short video on how I paint metallic parts. Very simple recipe: lock in the basic color Leadbelcher, applying 2-3 thin layers (dilute metallic paint with just a little bit of water to make it flow better). Once dry, apply a wash with Nuln oil, with the brush make sure that the wash accumulates on the darker parts. Sometimes I apply a second layer of Nuln oil on the darkest parts.

I usually leave it there because I like the metallic parts to get that dark matt tone from the wash, but sometimes I apply a thin edge highlighting with Stormhost Silver on the most elevated areas to make these parts pop.

🇪🇸 Compartiendo un video corto de como pinto los metalicos. Receta muy sencilla: aplico 2-3 finas capas de Leadbelcher (diluir con una gotita de agua para que fluya bien). Una vez seco aplico un lavado con Nuln oil, mirando con el pincel de dirigir la mayor parte del lavado a las zonas que iran mas oscuras. Muchas veces aplico un segundo lavado centrandome en las partes que quiero realmente oscuras.

La mayoria de las veces lo dejo ahi, me gusta el color mate oscuro que queda, pero a veces quiero resaltar algunas partes metalicas y ahi aplico un edge highlighting con Stormhost Silver.
