How to paint Gold (TMM) (Patreon)

🇬🇧 Hi bosses! Here sharing a video on how I paint gold with metallic colors.
I like to start covering the gold parts in brown, I feel I need less layers of gold.
I thin the gold color just enough to make it flow nicely, be careful don’t thin it too much, I add just a drop.
Usually takes me 3-4 layers to cover the area and have a nice gold tone. For metallic colors, washes and contrast paints I always use an old brush so I can extend the life of my Winsor&Newton, I found that these paints ruin the brush faster.
I apply a mix 1:1 of contrast medium and Guilliman flesh contrast paint, moving the brush towards the recesseses and the corners (shoulder pad). I then apply a thin shade with Fyreslayer contrast, with a drop of water, on the deepest recesseses and the corners, pushing the shades a little bit more.
Now onto the highlights. I start using a 1:1 mix of Retributor gold and Stormhost Silver with a glaze consistency (thin quite a bit with water) and I apply a glaze on the most exposed areas on the shoulder pads to push the contrast.
With that same color with normal consistency I do the first edge highlight in all the edges.
Finally, with pure Stormhost Silver and also using a glaze consistency I push the highlights even more, very thin and in a very small area over the previous glaze.
With the same silver, normal consistency, I do the final edge highlights onto the most exposed edges, leaving the previous edge highlight on the darkest parts.

🇪🇸 Hola maquinas!
