Status update Episode 12 (Patreon)

Happy Friday!

This week, I mostly worked on art. I worked on environment design and even character design for some of the scenes.

Today, I just finished work on another long scene. It was a scene that I've been planning and waiting for five and a half years. Creating it was an amazing feeling and a big payoff. I didn't want the work on it to end. I can't wait for you to play it.

I've also worked on a special feature for the episode, and I dare say the final feature of Season 3. When I say feature, I usually mean something that requires new GUI elements and code - basically, something fresh.

I will continue working on art next week; I'm just starting work on another scene. The render queue is looking healthy.

I know the next update is going to be super long (and that's okay), but I'm already looking forward to it. Because I already know it's going to be fantastic again. I have some ideas in this area, since I enjoy that kind of behind-the-scenes talk myself. As you get, it's just not possible during active development as it could spoil future things.

The scene did not take 5 years... it simply has been five years since he planned the scene and now comes the episode there it belongs into.

Anyone knows how to get Josy photoshoot scene on J&M path? I'm keep getting Maya ice skating scene (not that I mind) but want to get both of them and my understanding is you can't get both on the same pt?

Anyone know how to fix the game crashing it keeps crashing when episode 10 starts

Sounds like you used mods in the past. I will copy & paste Pink's anwer to such posts in case, he does not read this comment: Hi. Your mods crash the game. The only fix is to delete your game, persistent and save files from "game/saves" and "%appdata%/RenPy/BeingaDIKSeason3-Patreon-1535311494" Re-download the original game files from Patreon. Don't modify your game to avoid problems in the future.

ive tried to balance them out as best i could but i find if you skip mayas halloween scene where she comes on to you infront of your room you can get josys photoshoot, tried so many times and finaly skiped that one scene and got it

Hopefully if its a "reaction" thing, like the painting or cleaning, it has a slow version for those of us with the reaction time of an elderly sea turtle.

All I had to do was go back and get her hangout scene I the previous chapter and it triggered for me.

Thank for all the info. My J&M path is Maya centric and I've forgotten that you're fooling around with her during Halloween party (that's one of the reasons for Maya scene in EP11 for sure). I guess Josy scene will have to wait. It was more of a curiosity thing I'm not big on Josy really

Probably, plus you're really in control that way and also can try some other things you've missed but still. Some time during "waiting period" I'm gonna probably go back and try it out or at least in Ep.9 I won't play with Maya and see if that one change helps

I like J&M path too and I like how it's getting more and more complicated how DPC shows it's hard to pull off such a relationship. On an individual level I like Maya much more but it's not really important at this stage. Pathing is fantastic in BAD so many variables so many outcomes I'm intrigued how will it come together and about every variation depending on choices/girls, most people that play it enjoy it cuz' everyone can find something they like. I play with no guide but when I finish most of the paths I check what I've missed. For example I went back to EP9 and played Bianca path just yesterday

I'm in the midst of my fourth (or sixth?) playthrough, and I just have to say that I think one of the things you do best in BADIK is your music choices. Some of the songs you pick for some of the scenes *really* raise the intensity of the emotions I'm feeling from an 8 to an 11. Thanks for all you do, Doc! Keep up the amazing work.

I just realized that Carla is super hot, especially in her Christmas party outfit... hehe. Why is she in a relationship? Until now, it does not seem, she will ever be available for MC. What a pity :-(

I can see several ways already where the J&M path could go south very quickly and that's beyond the fact they argue constantly from the start and half the time MC is the glue holding the trainwreck together. The other MGs also have situations I see with "Danger Will Robinson" signs. Jill if you do things with Bianca, the whole Sage/Jade thing, and Bella....what can we say about Bella as we open that door....

Agree. I've read somewhere, reddit or article, can't remember, about BAD how DPC shows us everything that's wrong with the relationships. More of a toxic side than a romantic happy part but still I think there will be some happy endings but not in a traditional "romantic comedy" naive kind of way. What you said about Jill I must admit she triggers me overall, I don't like it. I see qualities in her and I get why people like her but still. She's neurotic and naive, there's like pressure that I sense when on her path. Everything is important, everything is serious. Like there's no chill, college relationship part with some serious talk and situations it's the other way around (makes Jill and her path unique but still). She can't really relax and she's skipping steps in a relationship like we're gonna get married by the next episode it doesn't seem "organic" if you will. Not gonna lie that was a reason for me to do Bianca path even tough straight up cheating is a no go for me. Bianca is "balanced" it's a bad word to describe a character but it feels like it
