I can't remember the last time I dropped an album reaction mid way through.

Perhaps it's because i'd just experienced TWICE's mammoth of an album produced to the highest level possible in every single way that I noticed how much more these songs were lacking.

Lemon Drop was so good and In your fantasy could've been great if it built on the musical idea it started with. I wasn't going to enjoy it simply cos they look good in the video. Cos if you think of it this way, we essentially heard the beat in the teaser of Lemon drop and that was the full song ... no surprises. Hurray ?

A very disappointing turn of events. Unless i get curious one day I don't see myself listening to the other solo songs.

Some extra context: Today since 11am (I was writing scripts since 9) I filmed 2 podcast episodes, filmed H2H Dance behind had a break then did BP, TWICE AND ATEEZ and then something else. Of course there was also editing happening in between. I think that's why by the time I got to ATEEZ my expectations were super high and my patience a lot thinner but I couldn't NOT react to ATEEZ cos duh? So that's why I'm crankier. ALSO it was 30c today, just not what you want for filming at all. You may think me dropping the reaction mid way wasn't right but trust me, you did not want me to carry on lol.

When the mood shifts I'll revisit hopefully when they drop the dance practices. I thought to add this for extra clarity since it's not like me.

I get what you mean about In Your Fantasy, I liked the song when I heard it through the performance clips with a live band, but the official version falls flat for me:/ as for the solos I enjoyed Skin, Slide To Me, and Sagittarius the most, you might like those but I understand the disappointment lol Also, I see people saying this title track is "leagues better than Lemon Drop" and I’m like??? Lemon Drop was far more interesting musically and refreshing

I understand the disappointment! I personally love all the solo songs because you can tell they each represent the individual members so well and they had a lot of say in the creation of them! I think you’d enjoy Skin (Seonghwa), Legacy (Yeosang), Sagittarius (Wooyoung), and To Be Your Light (Jongho)! I think Hongjoong and Mingis solos were the weakest for me, I was sort of hoping for more from them, but I can just tell that they’re both going to go absolutely crazyyyyyy in concert. I agree that In Your Fantasy could have used a little more variety and switch ups but I loved it because it gave me such a nostalgic Justin Timberlake/Lady Gaga feel!!

lmaoodjeje yeah ateez completely lost me and it’s such a shame because they used to be my ult?? ever since the golden hour series started it’s just been complete nonsense to me, they’ve lost their spark and what made them different from the other 4th gen bgs production and vocal wise. slide to me, skin and sagittarius are definitely the saving grace of this album though so you should check those songs out! but yeah i completely agree with you

ah I respect your opinion but not sure I love not feeling 2 songs then bouncing, especially on solo projects where they are showing off their individual taste

This is actually my first time commenting so the "I" in me is nervous😭😂I know it's your opinion at the end of the day. In mine all 8 members have such unique styles that's interesting to hear, that I was waiting to hear your opinion on so it's a shame you didnt give it the full chance. Yunhos, Seonghwas, yeosangs, wooyoungs and jonghos songs are my favourite personally. Either way if you said you'll listen if your curious I'll just have to be happy with that :)

Actually, it's the first time I've seen an Ateez title track appreciated very very much by other fandoms. I personally like the song very much. Hongjoong made NO1 using his dialogue with a female fan, which was viral on the internet, as a sample (you can hear the woman's voice at first part) and this is the most creative idea I've seen in a long time.And Hongjoong's solo stage is mostly for entertainment purposes, Hongjoong is a DJ on the stage and actually turns this concert into a club for 3 minutes. Frankly, although it is not a song to open and listen to for me, but the for concert is a very good choice to go crazy, I recommend you to watch the live version..And I wish you had given other solos a chance, I'm sure there could be a song you liked. Especially in terms of vocals, every member stands out. It's a different experience to listen to yeosang's voice for more than 3 minutes, whose vocals we can't even hear for 7 seconds on lemon drop. thanks for the video.

Thank you for your reaction! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the other solo songs from the album, especially Skin and Slide to Me. The rest of the tracks might not be as strong as Lemon Drop, but those two are the ones I’ve enjoyed the most. Have a great weekend!

I liked lemon drop as a song better than in your fantasy but my god they looked good in this MV!!!! I can’t even say who looked the best but Seonghwa was gorgeous. Ihope they release a performance vid in the outro fits so I can admire more. My fav solo songs were definitely Seonghwa and Yunho’s. Yeosang’s too surprised me. I can’t lie that I can’t wait to experience Hongjoongs solo in concert. I am an EDM/rave girlie at heart 😌

Ngl I didn’t watch your whole reaction based off what you had written (skimmed through and stopped at expression changes 🤣) cause I didn’t need my bubble burst 😆 I was sad you didnt check out the rest but in the end it is your experience! If you werent enjoying it made sense to stop rather than continue in a poor mood. I sorta wonder if they might release MVs for the solos (not sure they will, but if they do maybe you can check it out then). Hope the heat lets up! Have a good weekend

This makes me so sad lol. They performed all the new songs at the Atl concert I attended last night and were absolutely amazing. I’d never been so gagged by performances ever. Hopin you’ll check the songs out again when the choreo comes out! Thank you for the reaction!

Oh Micah if only you listened to Seonghwa’s track right after Hongjoong’s instead of skipping to San’s song, maybe this review wouldn’t have ended at just two solos 😄 I liked In Your Fantasy at first but the more I listened to it in these 2 days the more it started feeling repetitive to me whereas Lemon Drop still feels so fresh even after having it on repeat for a month! As for San's, it’s funny cause I was also expecting something similar to It’s You for his solo, totally agree with your take. I enjoy Hongjoong’s solo though, but I get that the genre is not everyone's fav, I'm just personally a sucker for the beats like this, headbanging and footstomping lol. Other than that, the only tracks that stayed in my playlist are Seonghwa’s Skin, Yunho’s Slide To Me and Wooyoung’s Sagittarius and I’m absolutely obsessed with them, especially the first two, I don’t see myself stopping listening to them anytime soon. MV or even just a performance video for these tracks would be such a gift because judging by the concert videos the choreos are amazing, but I doubt they exist…

I fully respect your decision to drop it mid reaction. For reasons as you explained and simply it isn't your cup of tea. Just because some of us like the album, it doesn't mean you have to. I appreciate your honest feedback on all of your reactions, that's why I'm always waiting for your reactions to drop. So thank you, and I hope one day when you feel ready you can revisit it. ❤️
