Jiyoon. You have my heart cutie.

This is the episode she really shined and it's lovely seeing her mature and how she's just easily misunderstood actually and has a sweet heart.

i loved that the ones that helped each other are the ones that made it, says a lot about the group mentality and what that really means.

Fuko has definitely grown on me even more from this point, meanwhile Jungeun did not shine here. She's reserved yet pushy as fuck, poor Saebi MY SHAYLA!! I guess that drive is what got her to where she is.

I don't get the critiques for I am the best. THEY themselves couldn't really change the original but complain the trainees didn't change it much? lol bye.

LOL i learned something today from you. i had no clue a womans voices could change during menstrual cycles. It also reminded me of an interview i watched of another female idol ( i forget who), that said majority of the female idols dont go through menstrual cycles or its extremely irregular like 3 times a year cus theyre all malnourished and overworked. its even seen as a convenience sometimes cus if they started leaking blood mid performance in their short ass skirts, it would be all over the news. so so sad but so normalized in kpop.

As I expected, you skipped through the intro part of the 12 contestants before Part 2 lol. In that part, Mai mentioned her background as a dancer in Japan, having 1 out of 3 leaders in a large dance crew of 1000 members. From what they showed, she seemed to focus on Japanese traditional type of dancing. I think this can explain why her direction for the Creative Unit was very Broadway-like, refreshing and different from the typical dancing stages that we usually see on survival shows.

One thing I don't quite wrap my head around is that there are situations where Korean wants a certain voice to be used for singing a certain song. In both performances that have IZONE songs, they all pushed the girls to sing in chest voice. Falsetto and head voice were really disregarded. Personally, I also think Jeemin's execution during the interim check was a nice touch. However, the mentors as well as the contestants deemed that unstable. Moreover, in izna's recent cover of "Golden" in KCON LA, Jung-eun sang the high notes with falsetto which was different from the original and other covers, so she got criticized because she didn't sing it with her real voice.

Yeahh I liked Jeemin's change too tbh. Her approach is probably what made her look less confident!

Like you said, what happened here is probably one of the reasons Sujung didn't debut here. Her popularity went down after this episode. Like yes this is an individual competition, but it's a competition to be in a group, not solo. So most people (the audience voting, or the producers) will have teamwork as a criteria. Even if it's not conscious. In addition seeing in the same episode Jiyoon helping Mai, Sarang helping Jeemin even though Jeemin got the part Sarang wanted, or Saebi giving some of her part to Koko and then helping her master it... It really didn't help for Sujung. But it definitely helped for all the ones that are now Izna members. Can't wait for the next episodes, and I got worried story was going to repeat itself when you started talking about watermelon. I need to stop watching your videos in the middle of the night x)

i don't blame sujung for crashing out tbh she was getting cooked by the judges for no reason the entire time while they glazed mai. like from jump "oh you're so good sujung but do something about your height. make your neck look longer on stage". Was crazy work. Izna would have been a lot more exciting if she made it.

I think what the mentors wanted from "I Am The Best" unit was a different vocal approach. Ji-yoon did fine with just her tone, it was enough to bring a different feeling. However, Su-jung took the main vocal position and I believe that's where they paid attention to the most to evaluate the overall vibe of their performance. In such a short time, Su-jung just couldn't bring her own style to her part. In fact, she hadn't fully explored her color yet during the show. Mai's part and Su-won's part were mostly too monotonic and they sang close to the original, that's it. So in general they couldn't break through the old vibe of the song. If the other 3 could modulate their singing here and there, I think the outcome could be more interesting.

I liveeeee! These episodes weren't the best with all the rankings and whatnot, but Jiyoon was a standout for sure. I need her back NEOWWWW! I'm also so curious as to the reason for her hiatus, considering her arc on this show. You blaming Jungeun made me scream lmaoooo. Not HER best episode for sure. Koko and Saebi my daughters!! I'm going to need IZNA's music to showcase their strengths more tbh. Also, you humming a lil jolly tune while the grounders get eliminated was FOUL and I loved it.

There were articles a while back of her, juwon, um jiwon and chaeeun debuting under a company I can’t remember but that was supposed to happen around KCON japan which was months ago now and it’s been silence since…😔 maybe for the better cause i personally don’t see chaeeun (ballerina) fitting into the concept the other 3 would excel at

There are rumours of her being in the lineup of cube’s new gg, before that the rumours were pledis… both their gg’s get questionable treatment so I hope they’re not true but I really want her to debut cause her growth in part 2 is crazy. I didn’t really pay attention to her in part1 and my first watch thought her getting through above yui was super questionable but she really proves herself by the end of the show and clawed her way into my heart and I can’t wait for you to see what she has to offer🤭🥹

My thing w the juyoonz beef is yes jiyoon had the right to be sad her close friend didn’t vote her - I probably would’ve been too. but she had to understand the vote isnt based off friendship. And the same people she confided in about it all didn’t vote her either like fuko so why talk to them about ur beef w jungeun rather than her directly when it’s something everyone did and you could easily resolve by asking her about it… Obvi it’s all fine now but I hate fans that bring it up to this day and try actually reference it as something to do w her hiatus or make up their own conclusions about various things. Mind you at KCON Germany after the show but before debut, in their vlog they call each other soulmates! they are and will probably always be really fucking good friends some of these people need to stop dragging it it’s been over a fucking year.
