I really enjoy this episode and loved your reaction. The kidnappers knew Simon is a doctor, because they're hiding in the bushes when Mal calls him doctor and sends him away (we see the bushes rustle slightly).

"What does that make us?" "Big damn heroes, sir." "Ain't We Just." -- this has stayed with me for YEARS. Excellent writing. Fantastic reaction, as always. It's crazy how they worm their way into your heart after a while.

This was Zac Efron's first professional on screen acting credit.

It's not in my top favorites, but this is still a great episode. We really get to explore not only how much Simon loves his sister, but we also see more of what River is capable of doing and why she might be important to the Alliance.
