I have never watched The Mighty Ducks (please don't ban me) but I understand that freak out. My first love was at the mature age of 5 and was Jonny Yong Bosch Power Rangers really awakened things in a lot of us growing up in that era. I, too, would freak out if he was in a random episode of a show I was watching

On this episode, How to Solve Your Own Murder.

I feel a need to go back and watch The Mighty Ducks now...although the coach (Emilio Estavez) is more in my age range. I had a crush on him.

This episode gets a bad rap. It's understandable though to an extent coming off the hot streak that were for the last four episodes. A slow paced murder mystery at a palatial estate could feel like a bit of a letdown. I enjoy it quite a bit. The Bashford family are delightfully toxic. Their snide comments & cutting each other down are a blast to watch. The fact that their Mother is watching them while they do it, adds to that. An Active being used to solve the murder of someone that is imprinted on them gives this a nice hook as well. Paul's actions here are definitely morally shaky. You could argue that he was just keeping up his cover. The shame shower & referring to himself as a client says otherwise. He is still working the investigation but he's a man who's been pushed incredibly far & the cracks are definitely showing. The Topher C story is good as well. Topher is arguably the least sympathetic main character of the series. He's very funny but also extremely arrogant given his intellect. He also has zero qualms about what happens at the Dollhouse. The fact that he's using an Active for buddy to hang out with does humanize him. It says something as well that he's not willing to disclose to Boyd the reason he's asking for an Active in the first place. The reveal that it's how he spends his birthday every year is incredibly sad.

I love the mighty ducks and have seen it so many times but I would have never known that was Adam Banks. Crazy

If you ask me about this one before I watch I always kinda give it a meh, but then I end up enjoying more than I remember. It's slower, sure, but oddly satisfying in its own way. I kinda feel bad for Paul. Having to basically play the part of a client, something I think he really really hates, dude did not look happy with himself at all.

Ugh. I have been so terribly behind on reactions for so long. I just finished binging your Dollhouse reactions and am finally current. They are amazing Darcie! Thank you so much for watching it and always being here when we need you. Now, do I get current on Firefly or Buffy? Hmmmm. :-) Have a fantastic day!

Super quick random fact, but as Adele and her friend (in Echoe's body) are walking through a courtyard at the beginning, that is actually the same set as Chilton School from Gilmore Girls :)

It was also an interesting note for me that Nicholas knows about the Dollhouse "in Manhattan, right?" when we know that Adele works at the Dollhouse in LA. This is a really subtle comment that harkens back to Echo's fight with Paul at the Chinese take-out when she tells him "there are over 20 dollhouses." I wonder why Nicholas didn't know about the LA house which would presumably be closer to him, but is aware of one in Manhattan? I don't remember if they said in this episode what city or state for that matter that this ep even takes place in 🤔

This was a fun one, and I can watch your fan freak out over and over. We all had that first crush and then they disappear and you don't know what happened to them, and you forget all about them. But I loved watching the goings on at that mansion. Your reaction was awesome, just very enthralling to see what you would come up with throughout.

I love this episode but especially knowing that it's Eliza's favourite. It's such a fascinating concept which is saying a lot by Dollhouse standards.
