Lorelai gets criticized by some fans for her parenting style but it’s times like these where she really shines. Giving Rory advice but also giving her space to make her own decision. I think about how Emily probably dealt with Lorelai’s first break up, probably told her just to get over it, and you can really tell she’s trying so hard to break the cycle of family trauma. I think Luke tackling a 16 year old child was a bit much even if funny lol. I appreciate Lorelai basically threw him back inside the diner.
