There was this band a long time ago, called Chameleon Circuit. They play Trock (Timelord Rock -- music about doctor who). Don't look them up just yet because most of their songs are a bit spoilery. But there's this one called The Sound of Drums (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV2ejGGvY4Y) that is about this arc with the Master, and it is one of my favorites. I just checked for spoilers and found none, so you can safely listen to it. And you should, it is amazing!! I'll keep recommending their songs from now on, whenever you can listen to them without being spoiled. Hope you like it!

I became so obsessed with the scissor sisters for a good five years after this episode aired lol! The back half of season 3 is so good and I can’t wait to get into season 4. There are a lot of really strong episodes in season 4.

Okay from memory here’s everything the broadcast version cut: - The opening scene of earth being declared unsafe - The master’s dance number - Mrs Jones almost killing the master. That scene was cut completely so kinda cut her entire character arc of trusting the Doctor. - Martha giving flowers to the scientist lady Honestly the episode works okay without these scenes HOWEVER they are all canon scenes and only enhance the experience. So I thought it was important to find the full version lol.

I love the sword sound effect they chose for when The Master opens his Laser Screwdriver.

Martha and her coat fashion is iconic!

DSJ.

We stan the Daleks, but the Master and the Doctor are the real iconic pair. They were pals when they were kids, they've been through so much together, as friends and enemies - and now look at them :( I ship 'em so hard.

Love a good Jack is the Face of Boe reaction, and this is such a strong episode with many a red herring almost

Damn I literally wasn’t expecting to cry again lmaooo 😭 David Tennant was such a get for this show, man… genuinely just thinking about his hope at finding the Master switching to complete panic at the fear of being alone again as he watches the Master die in his arms? I just started sobbing smh Martha Jones, the one that got out ❤️ which, in the grand scheme of Who companions, is the best you can hope for. She came, she saw, she slayed and I’ll never forget her!!! She was set up for unfair comparisons to Rose during her tenure, and despite the show trying to comment on it and use it to show the Doctor’s grief at losing Rose and learning to move on, I still feel like she never quite got her flowers for season 3.. Justice for my girl!

Martha is my favourite companion. Without a doubt. I am so excited to continue this journey with you!

Glad you enjoyed it, and love your reactions…<3….Buckle up , seasons 4 -7 are ahead, and from now to the 50th anniversary show is quite possibly the best era in new Who..imo at least. Martha is probably my second favourite companion after…well that would be a river of spoilers… :-p (…and yes in the original Who, there were companions from the past, future, and even an alternate dimension called e-space. )

I gotta say, I am absolutely loving getting a chance to watch this again through your eyes. The fact that you knew NOTHING coming in is fantastic! These reactions are so entertaining. Overall, this season isn't my favorite, despite some very bright spots ("Blink" is one of my favorite episodes of anything ever, plus some great performances from both David Tennant and John Simm (the Master)). The Face of Bo reveal, though, is iconic. I love that moment so so so much - Jack is such a great character, and it's such a great reveal :chefkiss:
