Always wanted to go on a “no destination” roadtrip. I dunno just seems fun if you’re with the right person lol. I also think it’s so great that Lorelei turned the trip into something Rory would love. Part of me thinks it’s what Lorelei had planned from the start. Lorelei and Sookie are a business dream team. We’ve seen how Loreali coordinates events, and how everyone raves about Sookie’s cooking. I love that season 1 set all that up so we don’t even doubt that they can go into business together.

I love this episode so much! That scene of Lorelai looking at the Wall of Harvard graduates and seeing the person who she "could" have been in another life is always so interesting to me: she didn't want to go down the path her parents wanted for her, but she also had Rory so young that she didn't really get to even think about what that would have been like -- and now *she* is the parent who wants for her kid to go to an Ivy League school and have every opportunity available, much like Richard and Emily wanted for her. Also the overbearing inn keeper always makes me laugh.

Omg I just had an epiphany that the inn keeper was Joyce's friend from the beginning of Buffy Season 3, and one of the BnB guests they are talking to at breakfast was the social worker in Buffy Season 6! Editing to add: was hit by another epiphany, that the husband with the space pen was the police chief in Buffy from Season 2!!
